Win98 reinstalling itself?????

Hey all, I have a win98 machine at home and it gave me some troubles a while back so i thought it was time for a good ol format and fresh install of the o/s. Everything went good and it was working great for a long time.

WMP9 not saving file open history & other niggles

How do you get WMP9 to save file opened history? I've set it to do so in the options and tried re-running the setup program to no effect. Media Player 6. 4 stores it's history fine, but not version 9.

About High speed connection

My parents are planning to get ADSL from the Telus server and I was wondering if my computer will support this high speed connection. It's a 450Mhz, Windows 2000 SP3, 128MB RAM, and 8GB hard drive. The mother board did not come with a ethernet card only a modem.

The 'My Music' folder has lost it's icon on the start menu

The link to the 'My Music' folder on the XP start menu seems to have lost it's icon (you know usually it's a pic of a folder with a music note overlayed on it). It's just a blank folder now. Also the same if you view it in My Documents through Windows Explorer or in the Open dialog boxes.

Can I mix 800 FSB with DDR2100?

Will this fry my ddr2100 ram with a p4 2. 8ghz 800fsb? Will it auto assign the correct ram speed and independantly leave the bus at 800? My MB model is P4P800. My new PC came without the ram (I want to use an old stick from my bud duhmez).

does anyone know of ANY way of getting red alert to play in multiplayer on win2k. i have 2 major issues with this game, first of all it wrote over ALL my dll's to win95 ones. . . . i had to reinstall so it would be nice to get around this if anyone knows a way.

Stop a device through a batch program

Does anyone know how can I stop a Device in Windows NT through a batch program. I know you can stop a service by typing net stop, is there a easy way to do this. Thanks in advance for any help. .

It probably has to do with the last 3 letters being together, namely s-E-x. Now, since those last three letters are attached to the rest of the word, the whole thing gets blocked out. Anyway, that's my theory.

I loaded XP on a new drive. I have additional SCSI drives that were NTFS formatted under NT. I can not access these SCSI drives under XP. They show up under Disk Management. What can I do to get these SCSI drives to be accessible with XP????.

Strangest problem with internet explorer on NT.

I've just had the strangest problem with IE5. 5, It would not open a link in a new window and would take about 2 minutes to open a shortcut to a URL. I tried fixing it by the method described in to no avail.

I have an excel workbook with multiple sheets. I need to import each of these sheets into a single table in SQL Server. I can get the BULK COPY SQL command to work if I save as a csv and do some tweaking to this 20 MB excel file.

i guess this could be considered a configuration tweak but anyway, i used to have windows me installed. i could play mpeg2 video files. i did not have any dvd software installed either. what i had installed was real player, media player, divx, quick time.
