I just got a new computer and installed winXP on it, but when I try to shut down it just hangs after the windows is shutting down prompt, goes to a blank blue screen and nothign short of a reset will get it to respond.
How do you perm. remove network shares?

Sorry for the long winded dscription but I can't find the right terminology. I would like to disable some applications that launch themselves from an entry in the registry or somewhere else. How do I find and disable the entry - I recall there was a term in the registry to search for.

I am using Windows 2000 Server and Windows XP clients. I need the XP clients to be able to remotely access the data on the Windows 2000 Server. The server has it's own IP address, static. What are the steps to successfully setup a VPN on the server and clients? What are the drawbacks in doing this? Help.

Need some advice. I've been using a DSL router for a year now, but I think it's on it's way out. It's a Draytek Vigor 2200USB, you connect your USB modem to it. It was working fine for nearly a year but all of a sudden its started dropping connection intermittently, and it's getting worse.

Servers are NT4, clients are 2K Professional. I disabled the proxy server in our PDC, then reconfigured the client machines to no longer use it. . . . just the default gateway which is a linux firewall/router.

Firewire Connector to Header (without card)

OK. Heres the deal. My case has front panel firewire but the connection requires an internal standard firewire connector. My firewire card does not have this. Has anyone ever seen a connector to go straight from the firewire header to a female standard firewire connector? I hope you all understand.

I'm trying to get the 1. 2 Quest Patched version of Nox to run in Windows XP. When I try to run it, the screen goes black for a moment, resizing, and then the program shuts down. I've tried various settings in QFixApp, but I'm basically taking shots in the dark here as to what is causing the problem.

I've got 3 HDDs, 1 span RAID, and 2 stripe RAID. My RAID adapter is a promise fasttrack 100, my OS XP SP1. The 1 span drive is a seagate and is my system C drive. The 2 striped drives are IBM, my D drive and I don't always use them.
