Well I have had this board for about 6 months now and I am finally encountering the infamous sound crackling problems? Has anyone found a solution to this? I am hoping not to have to deal with the insanity and morons at the nforcershq forum.

when i do the search from the start menu, it doesnt search the whole drive even tho i have it set to. It wont search thru certain folders(like the windows folder)to find sumthing im looking for. If i know for certain that its in the windows folder i will put in C:\Windows instead of just C:\ and it will find the file.

Cant play any old games

I am having trouble playing any on games, they install ok, but when i go to play them all i get is a black screen. I have all the latest drivers, and I don't know what else to do. Can anybody help? I am running a Acer Aspire 1700, with SIS650 Vid Card, 198mb Ram, 80G Hd.

I have this ancient game, sid meiers colonization ( dos game ) for some reason it wont run under win2k. . so i wonder, is there some kind of dos emulator to make those really old games to work? i seriously need to play this game Bossen.

after a week of blaming codec packs and a reload i discovered that my sound was coming out flat because my PC has decided that it wants my sub to play ALL sounds anywhere near bass, which makes a mess of most music.

How do I stop the hidden Autoshares?

Morning all. I've got a Win2K and a XP box that I'm trying to make secure but for the life of me I can't stop the C$ autoshare from starting up and coming back after reboot. How the hell do I stop it? I'm pretty much gettin frustrated with Microsoft at this point.

Maybe I'm just missing a dll file. . . but on the website for steam it says nothing about compatability with NT. Anyway. . . there's a new release of Counter Strike, and it's using a new thing called steam.

The URL tags that are and work fine but when you try to use the text it doesnt work. . . Oh and dont be a cynic and tell me to take out the dots they are in there so you can see the formatting of the tags.

Our trusty HP6P was sent out for repair. While it was gone, we decided to buy a new HP2300. Installed the 2300's software using the supplied CD (v 1. 0), but had to order a second CD; the center-hole on the original CD was off-center.

Error entering the forums

For 2 days now, when I first enter the forums after opening my browser, I get an error saying in line 32, 'awin' is null or not an object. But the forums are working ok. I don't get the error again until I close my browser and reopen it.

Under XP Pro (or XP 2K3) which is the least problematic defrag tool OTHER than the native service. I currently use O&O defrag. I especially enjoy the stealth mode defrag. (defrag while playing intensive video games or the like) what do you use and why? TIA.

Problems with AVG 6 Free Edition updates

I'm having a problem with updates for AVG 6. 0 Free Edition. Since version 7 has been brought out, the auto update function doesn't work and users seem to have to visit the Grisoft web page manually to download and install update definitions.

Mechwarrior 2 Mercs with WinXP compatability Toolkit?

Has anyone gotten Mechwarrior 2 Mercs to work with this toolkit? Version 3. 0 Has Mechwarrior 2 listed in its list, but when I try to customize it to get MW2Mercs to work, it just dumps me to a black screen, same as running it regular.
