getting this blue screen seemingly at random. *** STOP: 0x0000000A (0xFF818000,0x00000002,0x00000000,0x8052779c) usualy after i first boot and launch my dialup or explorer or eudora. I think the third block means it's a writing error but I don't understand the others.

Searching and destroying a file

I've got a particular file on about 150 Windows XP machines that I want GONE (%systemroot%\ina32. ini). Problem is, I'm not running Active Directory, or SMS. I have a shared user account on all the machines, so theoretically I could go in through the IPC.

Is there any way to run a batch file before the NT bootloader kicks in? I am dual boot boot linux and want to do something to the effect of if f:\linux. bin exists, move to c:\lniux. bin before the bootloader has the opportunity to load c:\linux.

How can I make Text Upper/Lower case in Dreamweaver?

Hi Gang, I'm wondering what keyboard shortcuts and or menu commands will allow users to highlight a block of text and make it entirely lower case or upper case. I'm using Dreamweaver 2004 and one would think it'd include such a function.

XP Pro having problem connecting to network printers

;( I'm sure that i'm not the only one having problems with XP machines but i really need all the help i can get. Recently i've been connecting XP Pro's to network printers(HP & Lexmark) and at first they connect but then once i leave them for about 2 to 5 min or longer.

Hi! Is it possible to export/backup a user in xp? On my laptop I have a user that is a member of the domain in school. Is it possible to backup this user so I can re-format my laptop and import the user afterwords and still be a member of the domain? Do you think this is possible?.

Win2k and the recycle bin

when deleting files from the recycling bin it takes a few seconds longer than it should be. Win98 and XP deletes it almost the same time u click to empty so therefore its quick. anyway i can get it to empty quicker in Win2k? thanks.

I was told that i had to create the user profile on that machine for others to access it which works fine, but now i have got lots of log on options when i start up but non of them can log on locally so is there a way of removing them from the list at start up ? ...

This is one for the experts in Nt/2k System Administration. If my understanding is correct, you can install a peice of software on a windows 2000 server, and make that software available for all workstations that connect to that server.

my gfs pc is an old HP pavillion. . and I put an 8mb PCI card on it to replace the 4 mb integrated vid card. . it works. . or so it seems. . problem is up the drivers. . I finally found a coopy of the drivers.

Refer to: I did it the clone, E:\ to C:\ - boot. ini and of course the boot sector was lost. It also re-sized my hard drive to 10gig (as E:\ was) but in partition magic it showed it as 30gig. . .

hi everyone, okay hers the deal i've got two machines and of course two legal copies of win xp pro. one is a plain oem version of xp pro, of which i've done a slipstream copy of it with sp1 included.
