Hi all, Background: 25 desktops all running 2K and IE6 running as part of a bigger 2K domain. All fully patched as of this morning. We use internet banking accross the net, using a combination of certificates, cookies, and https.

Uploading file problems

When trying to upload a file, say 100MB it stops after about 3-5MB. There's plenty of room on server I'm upping to. But why does it stop? Thanks,.

i just got a copy of this game. i tried to install it on my winXP home edition. everything installed fine, but when i went to play the game, i received an error about directX along the lines of: 'D3DERR_INVALIDCALL' then some other junk.

SVCHOST.EXE duplicate loading, eating memory.

I can't figure out why Windows keeps loading SVCHOST. EXE five times at startup. Checking other forums i've had a couple people suggest a service pack update from Windows would fix the problem, but I installed all the updates and it hasn't changed.

Try I know they didn't test any pc2400 ram's but you can compare the chip types they use. Hard to say what's the best choice it was easy for the mobo wich is the best. . . . . . I wish abit would make ram.

NT Server shows many files in use when none are in use

One user on our NT domain sometimes shows up in server manager with many excel files open as soon as he logs on, when in fact he has not opened any of these files. It's not consistentsometimes it does it and sometimes it doesn't.

How to extract a file from W2K CD?

Shame on me! I have forgotten how to extract a file that I need from \I386\LANG\ folder on the W2KS CD!. It is a TTF file but it has the extention. TT_ on the CD. Could someone help me with this- I have done this so many times about a year back- but now.

As far as I can see it works rather well so far, with the exception of FAT32 partitions, where performance seems very much slower than in version 7. Of course this is not really relevant when it comes to server use, where NTFS is first choice.

Heya, I've read that Total Annihilation will run on windows 2000, but whenever I insert the disk and run setup, I only get the option to Exit Game, not install it. I have downloaded and installed ACT 3.

At present I have 3 accounts with administrator privilliges setup on my XP Pro machine. Two are manually created accounts and one is the original 'Administrator' account that is created by windows setup (but I have since renamed it).
