Problems with Modem sending faxes

I have a Creative Labs Modem Blaster PCI, and recently I can't send any faxes out (used to be able to before). What happens is when the fax is about to be sent, the modem dials out, then the destination fax machine answers and the fax tones could be heard, but apparently my modem and the fax machine aren't talking ...

I just downloaded and burnt the slipstream version of XP pro w/ service pack 2 off of windowsbeta. microsoft. com I'm going to try it out tonight, but before I do, is it worth it or are there any major problems with it that sould make me not want to use it on my main computer?.

Did a forced push install from sav server onto win98 client. downloaded a test virus file in a zip. Not detected as zip until unzipped. Something I am missing?.

ok this card supports realtime capture to MPEG2 through the hardware and I can capture to that at the highest rez with no lost frames. Is it better to capture to uncompressed YUV2 AVI or capture to MPEG2 dvd quality? Thx.

I have a Matshita DVDR drive that now will not read or write DVDR's. I am a real novice so if anyone out there can help me out that would be appreciated. For some reason the drive will read regular dvd's but not DVDR's.

I am trying to set up a netgear wireless router to use msn with file transfer. I am currently using an nt 4. 0 worktstion box and couldn´t find the way to transfer files with msn messenger. Seems like I have to get a upnp compatible operating system, and nt isn´t one.

I have used the default setup when installing XP to connect two different XP machines. They see each other and work flawlessly. However, when I try to access my Windows 2000 machine, it does not see it, nor will that machine see the other two XP machines.
