There are certain resources on the server that I would like to make so that only certain programs can create new files or append data, however, any other program (including explorer (i. e. copying & pasting)) is denied access.

I have a LAN system with 2 user accounts on each PC. 1 is an admin account, the other is a restricted user account. I want to be able to allow the clients access to the resources shared via the server, however, I have guest disabled because I only want authorized computers to have access to the servers resources.

I was viewing a streaming movie the other night when suddenly everything locked up. I rebooted and decided to play a game and a short time later, same problem. I got as far as the XP logo screen on the reboot when everything froze solid again.

Windows XP hangs at startup

I have noticed my Home Edition of Windows XP to hang on startup. I log in and it either hangs then, or hangs when the desktop has loaded and I then can't seem to load any programs. This is inconsistently the case, however.

Yea, my McAfee 6. 0 program detected a virus but when I try to delete it, it tells me that I don't have access or something so I can't delete. I have only one account on my Windows XP and I have full control over everything.

I'm trying to install Windows 2000 on an Elitegtoup (ECS) P6STMT motherboard but I get a blue screen with 0x0000007B INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE when it tries to boot into windows after installation. Are there any known problems with this board or its SiS 630ET chipset?.

LAN to WLAN bridge slows network to 1Mbps

The setup: Win2003 networked to XpHE via the WLAN at 54Mbps. Win2003 networked to Xp Pro via LAN at 100Mbps. I want Xp Pro to share files with XpHE, so I bridge the LAN and WLAN with Win2003. Bridging the 2 network cards slows the WLAN down to 1Mbps.
