Virtual PC and MSDOS under Win2kPro

Not sure if you can help (or if this even belongs here) but this is making me just a wee bit crazy. . . In my ongoing (but fairly recent) struggle to play some old MS-DOS based classic games, I got MS Virtual PC 2004.

XP Pro Re-installation Problem

I just purchased a new Desktop for work, a Gateway with XP Pro pre-installed with all the bells and whistles that typically clutter up a new OEM PC. I decided to nix the entire system, and re-install just the XP Pro OS which was supplied with the PC believe it or not on CD, and then tweak it to my taste.

Question about port 80

I have a network of about 350 computers. I recently heard about the Network Probe software. I downloaded the trial version to check out our network. There are approximately 40 computers that show to be using port 80 which I understand is for the http protocol.

the question is how to stop scandisk on win2003. . always check my hdd. . and when come to drive E: and restart or freeze. . Yes. . i use ESC buton and everthing is ok. . but when check drive E: - ;( I don't need to check my hdd always.

Exchange SMTP almost working :-(

I have set up Win2k SBS and the basic setup seems like it is working fine. Well now they want me to set up Exchange to host their internet email. They own several domains, so I am testing with a domain they don't acutally use yet.

hi, i'm having some problems with 'indiana jones and the fate of atlantis', i have winxp and every time i try to start that dos game, as i double click the icon i am told that it's unable to initialize sound driver and the game doesnt start.

Did anyone ever find a link for IE6 that was a full setup? I did a search and saw the download method using switches. Thats great, but my time today is limited. If anyone knows of a link for a full download or has an ISO for the cd, I'd really appreciate it.

HELP - "islayer.dll" error on all ATI Radeon drive

Hi all, The Catalyst 4. 1 & 4. 2 packages (as well as the seperate driver & control panel packages) will NOT install on a Sapphire 9600 Pro Atlantis under XP Pro SP1. Halfway during setup, I get an error message stating (error - islayer etc.

Admin disabled Windows Update...

This is odd: for some reason, my personal account has been denied access to Windows update. My personal account is part of Administrators and Power Users. I have Win2k SP2 installed. How do I set it so I don't have to go into the Admin account to update Windows? Thanx.

OK, I know that this is a Windows app. But, my step-father just sent me his PC profile with this tool that allowed me to quickly find upgraded ram and a second hard drive that matches his system. This utility gives all his system specs.

Maintenance apps for NT 3.51?

Does anyone know where I can get a program that can list and kill processes on NT 3. 51, and additionally where a compatible disk defragger can be downloaded (apparently Diskeeper 1 was NT 3. 51 compatible).

Anyone know what "sysme.exe" does?

Once or twice per day, ZoneAlarm notifies me that sysme. exe is attempting to access the internet. I've done a Google search, but can't find anything on this file. The file is located on my hard drive at c\winnt\system32.
