I've been working on slipstreaming the current hotfixes into a W2K SP4 deployment. Finally, I have all the files being installed correctly. Unfortunately, for all the Active X stuff to work right, there are many, many, many, many registry entries needed.

Extracting Audio From DVD
ViolentGreen
I have a concert DVD that I'd like to extract the audio from to place on a mp3 player. Does anyone know of an application that will allow me to do this and will automatically break the audio file at chapters? I'd prefer an application that runs on XP but I could do linux or mac software as well.

Putting the page/swap file in RAM instead of on HD?
Ken B.
I've seen utilities that allow you to section off some of your RAM and turn it into a drive letter. This means it's volatile (erases when the computers turns off), but for a page file (swap file), would not this be a great idea??? Have your swap file, say 512MB, in super fast RAM??? I'm thinking of upping from 512M ...

HOSTS file glitch on my Mom's 56k dialup, help networkers!!!
jmmijo
I'm not sure if there is a limit or not, but perhaps it's more an issue with DUN then anything else I would test the limit theory by renaming the hosts file and then opening this renamed file and then copying and pasting say half the entries into a newly created hosts file.
GPEDIT HELL!!!

I used to do things easily with poledit but now I can't achieve it with gpedit. What I want: I have users. About 400 hundreds of them. They belong to different groups. Each group should get their own desktop and startup menu but each user should also have his own home directory, using windowsXP(pro) workstations.
