30 or so friends and i lan constantly. Usually the new stuff has our attention, but recently we had an urge for the oldies but goodies. So Duke was the first game we shed blood on, but someone suggested shadow warrior(one of my favs).

How to run Scandisk on W2k

Hi, I have a friend with a clicking harddrive that will not boot to windows 2k. I thought I could boot to a boot disk and run Scandisk. exe but that doesn't seem to be the case. How can I run Scandisk.

webserver/site not working outside my pc

i'm running apache2. 0. 49 on a winserver2003 box. within the last few days, my website isn't accessible to the outside world, but i can access it via mozilla on my host pc. a few days ago i uninstalled active directory & i lost alot of stuff that had to be reinstalled so this may be the cause but i'm not totally sure.

I seem to consistantly run into this similar problem. I have done a number of W2K Pro installs, each time I run SP4 I get strange drive errors. Each time its a fresh download in install, what gives. I like SP4 due to it running faster but I seems everytime the machine dies at some level later with drive errors and ...

Installing Win NT 4.0 on a 20 GB HD ??

Hello, I'm having problems installing Windows NT 4 on a notebook with a 20 GB hard drive. From my own PC I know that Win NT handles a 20 GB hd quite well once SP6 is installed, but that's not a big help for installing NT.

This is really starting to annoy me. I simply cannot install the hotfixes being offer my MS onto my XP system. Either from with Windows Update site or by downloading the hotfixes manually and apply them.

Occasionally I have to reboot explorer. exe to unlag it as it eats of resources or when it crashes. The problem I have is that I have programs that run solely in the taskbar and when I restart explorer, they disappear from the taskbar.

When I try to install Mech4 from CD (running setup. exe in CD 1) , it gives me a error message: unable to locate exported function RegisterServiceProcess in kernel32. dll and then install aborts. After that i installed all microsoft updates avaliable.

Anyone Using WinFax Pro and a Courier Modem?

We just bought a brand new Courier business modem to replace our old sportster. We use it for faxing with Winfax Pro 10. 02. If anyone else uses a courier with Winfax I'd be curious to know your initialization strings within Winfax.

I've got to install SP1 on an XP machine that's using the illegitimate VLK. They've purchased an OEM version of XP Pro, as a clean install isn't an option can I just change the Product key from the VLK one to the new one they purchased.

Has anyone ever got this combination to work? If so, can someone explain how? When I try War2 complains about not being able to find some file on the War2 CD despite having low-level CD-ROM support enabled in VDMSound.
