Anyone know how to check to see the files are valid? First time I downloaded the self extracting files it had a corrupt setup. exe. When I downloaded the ISO and then the install had alsoa few corrupt files.

Ok, i used to play a game called Dust: A Tale of the Wired West and it used to run fine, on windows 95 but ive got xp now, and it doesnt want to work properly, it crashes alot, and doesnt want to save.

Im collecting Lucas arts classic games. The games I have collected so far are Full Throttle, The curse of monkey island, Day of the tentacle and Sam and Max. The sound and music works in all games but Im using VDMSound to improve the sound quality in DOTT and Sam and Max.

Winamp scrambled after resolution change

When you launch a program that has a different screen resolution to your desktop, the icon and window posistions can become scrambled when you exit. Although most of my programs are well behaved a consistant offender is Winamp.

Restoring apps after explorer crash...

Any idea how to restore programs that sit in the tray (such as mIRC, as I have it configured) to restore or reappear after explorer crashes? I hate having to kill the app and restart it. . . and there is got to be a way to restore the app.

OK I was having some issues with my laptop the other day with certain programs (Explorer and Music apps) not responding after a few minutes of usage. Using task manager to close just gave me the END NOW message and did nothing.

Hello experts, So my problem is this: In my 2000 server i got a directory (app) and i shared it to the administrator (with full control) and user (a user that can only see and not write). From the clients (winxp, win98, etc) i want to map a network drive to the app directory.

Hi, I started to load adeptec 4 on my xp and found it was not compatabile. XP disabled the troublesome drivers and aborted the install. My question is, how to get rid of the opening msg. that says they are disabled.

i'm trying to resurrect an older (400mhz, celeron, 128mb ram) win98 SE machine. it has 2 hard drives in there set on primary master and primary slave. the bios recognizes it and it seems to be in the device manager.

This game is operating under Windows 98 Second Edition(I know it's not listed on the forum listsbut I'm desparate to resolve this issue; EA gives me worthless garbage for an answer). My problem with this game is that each time I play it, the keyboard or/and mouse locks upat anytime.

Long filenames and CD burning probs!

My mum wants me to backup her work stuff to CD. However when I try and burn the stuff to CD (using Nero) it tells me that some of the file names are either longer than 255 characters (or have characters that aren't supported by the CD file system, ISO 9660) and directories are more than 8 paths deep.

I am trying to publish a website using FrontPage and I get the errorAccessing HTTP servers requires 32-bit TCP/IP netowrking, which is not installed or may be misconfigured Now I've already gone through all the steps except it says that I have to check the TCP/IP box on the bindings tab.
