how do i adjust the computers brightness?

how do i adjust the computers brightness other than the wheels on the monitor? it controls the gamma and whatnot, i've been there before i just forog twhere the location is. Thanks. .

XP and Yamaha CRW2200

I loaded WindowsXP on my machine and it will not detect my Yamaha CRW. If I only attached my CD-ROM XP will see it and it will work. As soon as I add on my Yamaha CRW, XP does't see any CD drives. I have tried using ONLY the Yamaha, but that doesn't work either.

Yamaha CRW2200 and XP

I loaded WindowsXP on my machine and it will not detect my Yamaha CRW. If I only attached my CD-ROM XP will see it and it will work. As soon as I add on my Yamaha CRW, XP does't see any CD drives. I have tried using ONLY the Yamaha, but that doesn't work either.

Hi Newbie but here goes. Trying to upgrade w98 to w2000. All I get5 is 'ntfs. sys' corrupt and setup halts. I have: formatted both hard disks (fat32) removed and swapped and replaced each stick of memory copied all files to hard disk and tried that - same result replaced the ntfs.

I run Windows XP Professional with FTP ServU 5. 0 (5. 0. 0. 4), I am registered and yes I did pay for it. I have a Linksys Network Everywhere 4 Port DSL/Cable Router Model NR041. I have a problem where FTP transfers to me are only 80-150kb/sec when the transfers are coming to me from 100mbit+ sites.

does anyone know if there is a possibility to write dvd-ram's with win2k3 server? i managed to get the driver installed (winxp compatibility mode)and even got it formatted (not with the default application dvdform but with nero) but i cant write on the disc.

Audigy Original or A7N8X onboard Nvidia APU???

I've been having a discussion with a few folks and we haven't been able to come to a clear understanding. So I'll ask some expert panelists for feedback on this. A7N8X comes with an Nvidia APU which is superb (probably best onboard sound out there), but I was thinking of getting an Audigy sound card.

I am thinking about moving towards water cooling for these hot summers and for overclocking purposes. Can anyone recommend to me a cheap, yet effective water solution. I was looking at Aquarius 2 by ThermalTake, but soon came to the conclusion that it sucks.

Upgrading Win2K from different language OS

I have the french language version of Win98 installed on my computer and when I tried upgrading to an english version of Win2K it said that it couldn't since it was of a different language. Is there any way of going around this? And I don't want to have to format and then install.

problem with SCSI

I have an AHA-2940UW with 2 ST34520LW and 1 ST34520W. all hdds are ultra wide scsi-3 compatibles, and the 2940UW is also ultra wide scsi-3. my problem is I can't get enought performance from the disk and if the manuals are right there must be 40 Mbps in any of the three.
