SP2 : XP firewall settings

Hi all, Is it possible using xp's firewall to add a port range? If I have 5 ports in a row I want to use, I need to add 5 entries into the firewall settings. Am I doing this the hard way by adding each individually, or is this correct? This existed with sp1, but since I upgraded, I'm hoping for a sp2 compatible sol ...

can't get rid of search assistant

Hi, I have got a search bar placed on my task bar. I close it everytime by right click, toolbars, and untick search assistant. How can I keep this off permanently. Also, what has happened, is I have my desktop button shortcut (beside the start button) always first on the list.

Sims Livin Large

Has anyone gotten the Livin Large expansion pack to work in Windows 2000? I downloaded the install fix patch from the Sims website, and that didn't work. I also downloaded the compatibility program from this website to try to make Livin Large run as Windows 98, and that didn't work either.

windows 98se networking

i have two mechines that are running windows 98se. I have them networked together with a crossover cable and two ethernet cards the two coumputers do not see each other and most of the time do not see themselfs.

Is there someone reading this who knows for sure that the Power Management Clock updates the system time in a Windows 2000 ACPI uniprocessor PC? Starting last week about every other day, the system time on my PC intermittently counts an extra one to nine seconds in a minute.

Slipstreaming SP2 into Windows XP

I recently slipstreamed SP2 into Windows XP the same way I slipstreamed SP1 into the same and SP 3 and 4 into W2K. Unfortunately, now when I boot off my freshly slipstreamed WXPSP2 media, it prompts me for the SP2 CD.

I keep getting error messeges from my web browser, when ever I visit certain web pages. The error is as follows: Error. A runtime error has occurred. Do you wish to debug? Line 61, Error: object required.

Hardware Failure whilst installing Windows 2000

Turning on my PC last week, Windows failed to start. After Detecting IDE drives and just before 'windows is starting' message the screen goes black. I discovered that by removing my soundcard (Audigy Platinum)windows started as normal.
