the sims 2 versus voodoo 3

I am having the same problem as another person only i have a different graphics card. . . it is a voodoo3 3500 3dfx I cant seem to find a driver that is compatible with directx 9. 0c. . . as when I try play the sims 2 it comes up with a message reading: Failed to find any DirectX 9.

Just formatted drive and didn't fully backup ;(. I am now looking for the wintv 2k drives which also include the WINTV32 application (i. e. the program that has standard looking icons instead of the the new design.

Strange Network problem on home LAN

I'm currently have two computers connected through a hub using UTP cable with straight through wiring. When both computers are turned on the network doesn't work. But if I set PC 2 (PC 1 has a set IP address all the time) an IP address then run the 'setup a small home network' wizard the network will work fine.

windows 2000 professional won't boot at all Please help!

I have win2k pro and I recently installed a driver for my printer and restarted my computer and now all I get is a plain blue screen with no text. I tried to boot in safe mode but in safe mode all I get is safe mode in all 4 corners on a black screen with no icons.

How can I install win2K on external USB hard drive?

I am running win2K on my system with the NTFS file system on all internal hard drives. I have an external USB hard drive that is formatted with FAT32 that is recognized both from Win2K or if I boot to DOS.

Hey guys, I just aquired a Sony Vaio LCD screen, i was expecting the plug on the end of the screen to be DVI-I ETC, but more like a 40 pin. . . (to be exact its a PCVA 15XTAP) i tried doing a google search but all the pages are in Jap.

at the login screen to city of heros, i got a message that said i need to update video driver. so i went to and went to download and install the new software for my radeon 9800 pro. when i installed, i got the error that it needed to be in standard vga mode.

I was given my work IBM 600e when I left, and it was loaded with Windows NT. I reloaded with XP. In setting up with my network at home, I changed it from the work domain to the workgroup workgroup. When I restarted, I am unable to log on.

Replacing RAM in a Dell

I have a Dell Dimension 4100 and I want to change the RAM. I am a bit worried because the website suggests 168 pin DIMM, and most of the RAM that I was looking at is 184 pin. Does this make a big difference? I am so new to all of this and I could really use some advice.

Hey! Are there now ATI Catalyst 4.10 drivers out (from ATI, no 3rd party)?

No the 4. 10 are not out yet. they are just using the pre-release drivers sent out for testing. Personally I have moved on from Doom3 and will be installing Star Wars battlefront when I get home. (picked up a copy for me and one for my room mate).

LAN problems

I was trying to set up a LAN via ethernet between my computer and my friend's laptop - I am running 2000 Pro, he is running XP Pro. The two were connected up but no matter what we tried, we couldn't get a connection.
