directx problems in xp sp2

I currently have service pack 2 v. 2096 installed on windows xp pro; i'm having trouble installing directx 9. 0c, even after i go through the directx 9. 0c installation procedures, it just shows that i have 9.

FFVII random crash

Alrighty, I havn't quite as bad a deal as many people with Final Fantasy VII crashing in xp, but I still have a problem and am quite put out. I developed a system of leveling up that doesn't require my direct supervision.

Weird mouse, double click error?

I have a microsoft intellimouse expolorer 3. 0, and have been having some problems with it. The problem is that about 20-30% of the single clicks on a folder or file act as double clicks and the file opens.

Wired/Wireless LAN with Dialup Connection

I'm trying to set up a LAN for a friend so her two daughters can both access the internet over a dialup connection. I have the network set up, but the computers can't see each other. Here's the setup: 2 PC's running Win2K Pro.

it's me again with a dns or dhcp problem

well i was in a rush and i didn't think clear. i was trying to fix my dsl connection, but i turn off my dhcp or dns, i forgot which one but prob the one the assign ip addresses. now i dunno how to turn it back up.

Had the same exact same Problem as SilverWolf: Hi, Im having a problem where Win XP Pro seems to stutter at regular 1 second intervals. At first I thought it was just with 3D graphics in games but, I later noticed it happening while scrolling down a window in internet explorer.

screensaver windows 2000???

I am trying to set a screensaver (password protected) for a thin clent user on windows 2000 network. i have tried to access control panel applications (display) but am denied access. Is this a permissions problem? I am extremely new to networking so can anyone help by giving me step by step instructions???? Cheers.

I use windows 98 and Outlook Express6 and I have a large address book. Yesterday I did something which lost my quick access contact box in the bottom left pane. I got the box back again using display options but the message now appears There are no contacts to display.

Call of Duty: United Offensive

I think I am just sick of all these wargames they all seem the same. . . but I just bought United Offensive and I don't like it, it seems like a decent effort but I just can't get into it, its loud, offers nothing overly over Call of Duty.
