I am reciving the following error: an error was detected on device\Device\Harddisk2\DR2 during paging operation. I also have another that I do not understand. A parity error was detected on \Device\Scsi\adpu160m.

Cannot install IE hotfix 834707

When I try and install hotfix 834707 (the latest Internet Explorer update), the update program tells me I have an incorrect version of Internet Explorer. I'm running Win2k SP4 with IE 5. 01 The hotfix was listed for Win2k SP4 (with IE5.

Hi, I have a Dell and it seems they've tweaked the TaskManager to remove the border and any tabs it normally has. I have no x at the top of the screen when I open it so the only way it can be closed is to right click on the tray icon and select close.

I'm looking at purchasing a new computer, as my old one hasn't a chance at running the SIMS 2 - the new game my daughter has to have. Anyway, most entry level systems, in my neck of town, that don't have a built in graphics card use a ATI 9200SE 128MB card.

When I first received Windows XP, about 2 1/2 years ago, 256 MB were available for RAM. Now, only 254 MB are available. Does anyone know what could have caused the 2 MB to disappear? Does anyone know how to get it back? Thank you.

Abit BE6-II and Geforce 4 mx4000 Problem

I have an old abit be6-2 motherboard (p3-550,512sdram) and i wanted to beef up the graphics, so i went out to buy a cheap gfx card. I decided upon a fx5200 (agp 8x $99 AUS). Took it home and it didn't work! im guessing it something to do with the be6 being agp 1x,2x (maybe 4x?)and 3.

i need some help i can get the game to work in win2k but i can't get the movies to work in the game. . it works to view with windows mediaplayer so i have the codec installed but it just turns black when the game is supposed to play a movie.

Editing the Startup file?

Is there a way to edit your startup in Win 2K. It was easy in Windows 98 with the msconfig utility, but 2K does not seem to have this feature. I have looked all over and cannot find anything that will allow me to edit the programs that launch on startup.

something wrong with my recycle bin im using windows XP Professional Edition when i delete a file i could not locate it inside my recycle bin my recycle bin is empty always -> I did not press shift delete -> I diabled the 'do not move files into recycle bin option in properties.

Hi, I'm beginning to run out of disk space on my laptop and am considering getting an external drive. I would still run apps off of my laptop HD, but would use the external space for keeping videos, pictures, and hopefully as cache for file-sharing, etc.

when i play any vido file mpeg or avi any one. after some time the screen become black. only sound is playing. it occurs mostly when movie or song reaches its end. plz help me. i have installed media player 9 codecs and divx4 codeecs.
