Really weird internet/LAN problem - Help needed

Does this make any sense to anyone - all suggestions wellcome. . . Out of the blue I got serious problems with my cable connection, which was (then) through a linksys router and static IP's on my home LAN running XP as the OS on the two internet connected PC's.

Why is my laptop faster than desktop to resume windows?

Hello, I've an Asus M3425CH laptop and a Shuttle SS51G pc both with WindowsXP. I've been samewhat surprised to note that my laptop is quite faster to Resume windows (after hibernation) than the pc. Can anyone explain why is that ? Here are the details: Laptop: Centrino 1.

Hi all, I've got a little problem, I'm new to the wonderful world of linux, I'm running Suse 9. 1 Pro, my PC specs is P4C800-E Deluxe motherboard with onboard Wifi slot, I got the Wifi-b card with antenna, with XP it work fine but I cant get Linux to even get a signal to my Access Point.

Hi All, I am an Action Pack newbie. I just tried to install Small Business Server and not verl far in (on those Blue screens) I get a message that EULA cannot be found and the installation quits. I get this with both sets of CDs in the pack.

I have recently installed a dell optiplex on a windows 2000 network. It seems to be configured ok. I installed office basic under the administrator account whilst logged into the domain. When another user logs in though, the office applications are not available.

Hi, I have several of these HP 3100i DVD-rws they are 1. 5x/2. 5x/20x and use the SCSI interface. They were made by HP in 1999 and never sold at all. I can get this to read Cds and DVDs in 2k/XP/2k3 but not write as they are not seen as writers by any program.

hi! i am trying to install simple programmes (like the software for the TOEFL test, so where you just have to click on the setup. exe). Everything seems to work, but after the unpacking and/or the question, if I want to install the program, nothing happens.

We are looking at getting a server with a RAID 1 config. with 73 GB drives. Would a 36/72 Tape drive suffice, or should we go with the 80/160. I'm asking because I'm not really sure what the disadvantages are to compressing the data before backup.

Hi I am net to being on the forums at this site (been to the site alone many times) and I know this question has been asked at least 1000 times but how do you access a network with out a SSID broadcast? If it doesn't have an SSID broadcast then how are you suppose to access this.
