I've got the same freakin message about how I need to install directX 9. 0. . . and blah blah blah! I've been trying to play this game for weeks now, but it doesnt work. It makes me mad. I really need help figuring out this, what can i do to fix it.

God, this is embarrasing. Everyone should know this but I seem to have completely forgotten how to fix it. So, I wanted to switch to a new harddrive. Now when booting, I get the message 'Floppy disk(s) fail (40)'.

Direct Draw issues with service pack 2

I recently installed service pack two and my games don't work (diablo 2, unreal tournament). I get an Error 22: A critical error has occured while initializing DirectDraw. I am running a Gefore FX 5200 video card and did not have issues before service pack two.

I went and spent £114 on this card, four weeks later in turn my computer on and what do I find, pinks lines on my screen, I don't really know if it’s the cards it’s self or something else doing it, but it’s a start.

I need to configure my newly acquired copy of DOTT to suit my sound card etc but can't seem to find how to access the settings menu for change to SFX, Port, IRQ, DMA etc?? Anybody out there tell me which keys to press to access it??

I installed some dvd burning software a while back and it tried to install a scsi/raid host controller. When it did, I got a BSOD and the computer restarted. Upon restarting it asked to install the device.

Urgh! Ok, So when I put the CD in it says that I do not have DirectX9. 0c, and that I need to download it from the website (it gave me the URL). So I went to and I downloaded it (which took an HOUR on my dial-up connection).

Ok. We are having weird problems. Two of our computers simply stop aquiring network addresses from DHCP on our Windows 2003 Server with a wireless connection. Our other 8 laptops run fine with no problems.

I have the neo2 plat. board w/ a 160 Hitachi SATA drive on it, and i also have a 20 gig. hd (IDE) that has about 10 gigs of info on it that i need on the SATA drive. What do I do? Currently the only device on an IDE is a DVD drive, which is on primary IDE as master.

Im having a HUGE problem with my dvd rom drive. I am using a Samsung SD-616F. But for some reason it can't read ANY DVD's but more importantly any DVD-Rom discs like the Half Life 2 collectors edition disc.

I bought a Microsoft SideWinder Precision Pro a couple years ago and I have not been able to find a program that can make/use profiles or schemes for XP. I need this option so I can make use of the shift button that basiclly doubles the amount of buttons it has.
