the sims 2 not running

How can I figure out what my grapic card & adapter is? How do I find out what directx type I have? The sims worked on my computer but the sims 2 won't run & comes up with the message about compatible graphics adapters.

HELP!! THE SIMS 2 CAN't b PLAYED

I installed the sims 2 from my friend's CD, and it uses Alcohol as an emulator. but after all installation done, when i was ready to play, there was this warning that i THE SIMS2 couldn't locate my CD ROM and it told me to disabled all my EMULATOR.

Here is the scoop. . . One of my hard drives died. Rebuilt system (NT4PDC). Restored from backup everything successfully (registry, files, registry etc). Domain works, users can login etc. Exchange server 5.

i have windows me and i remember deleting a partition because the service people on the phone told me to at the time to make my computer work but i think now it deleted my easy cd creator with it. . .

MechWarrior 4 with Windows XP?

Can anyone get Mechwarrior 4 Vengeance to play on Windows XP? It won't even load and keeps saying that I need to get DirectX 8 but I already have a more advanced version of DirectX. I have another game (Hot Rod American Street Drag) that also says the same thing.

guys. . . somehow the xp administrator login password is not getting thru the program. . . it was fine till this morning. . i didnt alter the password but somehow the password is not helping. . i checked on caps, spelling and etc.

Ok to start with i have 2 operating systems installed, both windows xp professional, but 1 with sp2 and one with no sp installed. When I play Half Life 2 or CS:source on the 1 without service pack installed, after about 30mins of playing the game freezes for a sec then just crashes to the desktop.

In the past my drives had worked fine. . My burner went out so I bought a new one: the Memorex 52MAXX 3252AJ. After installing that drive I booted up my computer and drivers for both drives were not properly loaded windows now reports.
