Hi all, I'm trying to configure an external USB2 harddrive enclosure on a HP Pavilion ze4420ca with a generic cardbus that has a NEC chip. There are numerous posts concerning problems with external enclosures and usb2 and no one seems to know a workable solution.

NO monitor signal

Hi, I am changing my motherboard from a pentium II to an AMD Athlon 650Mhz. I did the switch of the MOBOs and all seem ok. All was connected perfectly and I reset the CMOS. I then turn on the computer but was no monitor signal.

I am having the common problem with the Direct X 9. 0 thing with The Sims 2. I get a box that says that that it cant be supported and the program will now terminate. I have a processor of 1133 MHz, and 496 MB of RAM running on WinXP.

Newbie Dell 8200 upgrade: Need help

Hey. This whole financial fiasco started when I decided to replace the aging GeForce 2 MX in my Dell Dimension 8200 1. 8GHz 1Gig RDRAM. I promptly bought a GeForce 6600GT off of ebay for a decent $160 without investigating the requirements of the video card first (how smooth was that).

Need help just installed wireless carbus...

just installed wireless cardbus adapter to a local area network and have good signal with 11mbps speed, all systems seem go. But when I open internet explorer page cannot be displayed. What is wrong? Worked previously on same laptop with dial up modem, but not now.

I have a Dell OptiPlex GXa 333MHz, running Windows 2000, all the recent service packs, blah blah blah. When I tell the computer to shutdown, it goes throught it's spiel, and then sits on the classic It is now safe to turn off your computer screen.

Any idea on how to get this to work in XP? When i run it, its all smashed into the top third of my monitor, i have tried to force it to run 640/480, and even changed my desktop resolution, but still stays like that.

How do I get my Signature email address colour back to blue?

when I attach my Signature (address, tel No, email, etc) to my emails in Outlook Express 6, my email address comes up a mauve colour instead of the usual bright blue. There are 4 of us in the family with accounts - but it's only my one that comes up mauve.

Hello there! Does anyone know why explorer. exe once or twice (or maybe even more times) a day starts eating up 100% (actually 95%) of my CPU and arround 400MB or my Memory? Usually it happens randomly when I am browsing the net or My Computer.

Hi everyone, I have installed Sygate Personal Firewall freeware version on my machine (OS Win2k) and everything works great but i have tested the security by scanning my first 1056 ports and I failed the test because of the ports 1002 and 1720.

Just a suggestion. How about a 'next page' button/link at the top of each of the thread pages. It is a bit of a pain to scroll/drag the page to get to the 'next page' button/link. .

MP3 Player from eBay won't work!

I got an 512 MB MP3 player from eBay. It worked perfectly fine but after two weeks or so it gives me the error message that the drive E: (presumabley the drive of the MP3 player) cannot be found and it never comes up.

I want to run 4 80gig WD sata's on a striped raid. In disk manager i have managed to create this raid but only by using windows on a IDE hdd (5 hdds all up). Problem is once i have created this raid i can't install windows on it so i can use this raid and remove the slow IDE.
