If anyone can help with this rather esoteric question many kudos as even the manufacturers of some of these serial key devices can't answer this. But in w2k in control panel > accessability options there are configurations under the General tab to enable serial key devices.

i had a problem! my friend placed a password on my machines bios. when turn on my computer before bios even scans for the hardware, before even booting it asks for a password! how can i reset the password when before even the computer starts it ask for a password?.

I recently built a machine for my brother. Biostar nForce 2 MB, 512PC 2100 DDR, 1. 4GHz Athlon T-Bird, and Radeon 9200 SE, 40Gig 7200 ATA 133 Drive. 350Watt Supply. Everything seemed to go smooth, XP Pro installed fine, all the programs and games installed and worked fine.

Windows XP won't boot

The boot process goes as far as just after the screen with the XP logo and the horizontal loading bar, then the screen goes black. At this point the computer hangs. It's not an issue of corrupt video drivers cuz i uninstalled them and tried to boot in VGA mode, and that didn't change a thing.

I've got an OEM copy of WinXP (Dell reinstallation) and have previously installed a full version of Windows XP off said CD without any complaints from my component built PC. I needed to install 2000 server so I could make use of utilities like SQL server on the system itself.

Replaced my old Gateway with Dell. Won't install Windows 2000 beacuse it was Gateway OEM. Message: error Bios not supported This Product only licensed for a computer manufactured by Gateway inc. win2k pro vs win xp for gaming

I have a choice of win2k pro or winxp pro to put on my gaming machine. I have tested them a few years back and win2k had better fps for games. On the newer games which os is better? my rig is athlon 2600+, geforce 6800 gt, 1 gig dual channel ram.
