On Windows XP you could change the size and quality of your thumbnail folder views by adding: ThumbnailSize and ThumbnailQuality as dword entries to the following registry key: I've tried the same in Windows 2000 and it doesn't make a blind bit of difference.

I listen to alot of MP3 music while I surf the web. Is there any way to mute the sounds coming fi IE6 while not affecting the sounds from my MP3 player (Winamp). Thanks. .

Hello there ! I have been encountering this problem for some time. I am using broadband internet. Recently, whatever I try to download either doesnt start or gets stuck at 75% or after 99%. But the pages are downloaded without any problem.

I use the new wow file and used petit to shrink it down and it worked fine, but I cannot get music from the C. D. and my screen resolution cannot go past 680 x 400 My equipment is a PENTIUM 4 , 2 GIG RAM ,GEFORCE 3 Can somebody help!!!!.

Explorer Crashing

Hi I have a real weird problem with windows explorer: it crashes when trying to access some folders or do some tasks such as copy paste (even Drag and drop). I initially thought that there might be a problem with the HDD's, run scandisk on all of them, nothing (no bad sectors found).

My sis sent me a forward she received showing pics of strange sea-life that was washed up on Phuket beaches after the tsunami. All up there is approx 2mb of images and two of them got slightly corrupted.

Crash - Appcompat.txt in ALL games

Everytime I attempt to play any game I crash back to the desktop. I get an appcompat. txt error. I think it only happens on programs that use DirectX (Ihave a screensaver that crashes too and that uses directX).

Can't browse to HTTPS sites

I have a user who of course did not click on anything bad while browsing but all of a sudden she can't connect to HTTPS sites anymore. All other (HTTP) sites work just fine. The error is the generic Can't find page or DNS error.

I have successfully installed Dungeon Keeper 2 on my Windows 2000 system. But. . . everytime I try to run the game nothing happens. Well not exactly nothing. The screen goes black while it swithces resolution, then drops me back to the desktop.

How can I automatically have users time out when idle for a time?

My old computer ran WinXP, and it was set up so that if you were idle for more than 30 minutes or so, the system would automatically log you out and the login screen would appear. You'd have to log back in - I liked that feature, but on my new computer, I can't find in XP where to set that up.

Ok im having two problems. 1) When i boot up windows i am unable to click the start menu or anything, i have to ctr-alt-del and close explorer. exe and then run explorer. exe 2) iTunes only opens up after i reinstall it.
