This is a simple question (without a doubt). I have a SBS2003 netwerk and need to add a member server for an SQL Server based application. I have never done this. So I install Windows 2003 Standard on the new server without Active Directory.

Outlook, virus scanning and signing -Help Please

Hi, Does anyone have any experience of running Kaspersky AV and Outlook 2003 SP1. Everytime I receive a signed email, Outlook crashes. I have not been able to find much information on the web, so I wonder if it is just me that has this problem? I did see some info.

Security Software Shutting Down Web Services

After fighting off a browser hijack infection, I installed lots of security software: AVG Antivirus, Symantec Firewall, SpyBot, Spyware Blaster, Spyware Guard, and a new HOSTS file. I got rid of all my infections, but today I notice that I can't do some things on the Web that I used to be able to do.

NOTE: this is a branch from the help! IRQL_NOT_LESS. . . . thread ( ) While checking the mem and power supply as recommended, I followed Help under Startup and Shutdown Troubleshooter to run msconfig to check startup errors.

Just out of curiosity has anyone seen the bug in the attached screenshot? All of the folders on my desktop are incorrectly shown as named Desktop. Also note that My Computer, Recycle Bin etc are also shown as Desktop.

I read in the NT compatible Game lists about how you need to run APCOMPAT. EXE for WINDOWS 2000 so that it detects the right amount of disk space. How do you do something like that for Windows XP? Any help will be appreciated.

I recently pulled out my old games collection and wanted to play them on my pc. Anyways, I noticed they didn't have sound in dos when I played them in dos. So I downloaded soundfx and vdmsound. For some reason, vdmsound never gave me the option when you right click on the file to use vdmsound.

Installing Windows XP to a large SATA Hard Drive

I am trying to install XP on a 300gig Maxtor. XP setup sees it as a 130gig drive. BIOS is current to January 05. Setup copys files but reports an error on starting XP. Any ideas?.

I just installed Win XP pro on my ThinkPad T30. It had been Win2K. I had Aironet Wireless Client and assume the Cisco Aironet 340 integrated wireless adapter. After the Win XP Pro installation I don't see any wireless network adapter in the hardware list.
