Hi, I hope you guys can help me. I am using win xp pro and I set up the admin password feature. I found out tonight when I tried to boot to safe mode, the password feature blocks me from getting to safe mode.

Alright, i was having issues with my video and sound card and i did some reading up and i was instructed to add /pcilock on my boot. ini file. I did that and now when i turn on my computer it brings up the screen where you choose Safe Mode, Safe Mode with networking, safe mode with command prompt, etc.

I currently have a large W2K3-based domain. I'm in the process of retiring all NT servers and Workstations. I would like to prevent anyone from bringing up any new NT4 workstations or servers. I can't just restrict NTLMV2 because most people are already running SP6a.

I now use Win2K with SP4. I've been having some problems trying to install a USB-based printer and a USB-based scanner. In particular, the scanner's driver refused to fully install and instead caused my machine to instantly re-boot when the Setup for it completed.

Hi I have a windows xp pro machine which is working OK and I have a broadband connection to the Internet. I want to host my own website in my own bedroom but I don't want to buy another machine. Can I install Apache, IIS etc on my existing machine and convert it into a webserver without damaging anything.

Hi I recently bought an Aopen GeForce 6600GT 128mb graphics card to replace my old Geforce 5200. I installed the card no problem. But when i started Doom 3 it had loads of black squares over the graphics.
Root protection.... Just like in Linux.

In Linux (using fedora) you dont login as the root. This means that you login as a user and you are unable to change some some things on the computer that could screw it up. Also it prevents you from installing applications.

Diskedit can't read entire hard drive in NT 4.0

I like to use the old Norton diskedit program. Unfortunately it only recognizes the 1st gigabyte on my 2 gigabyte hard drive. I'm using NT 4. 0 SP6a on a stand-alone computer. I don't know if this is a problem with the command interpreter.

I'm posting this here, rather than software, because the problem clearly requires a registry tweak. After I install Nero's CD Burner software, I can't export my entire registry. The HKEY_USERS will now only export.

Hi all, I've got a Win2k server running RAID-5 on an Adaptec SCSI RAID 3210S adapter. The array contains 3 Maxtor AtlasIII 36GB SCSI HDD. The day before I decided to add one more HDD to the array. I used the Adaptec Storage Manager Pro to add the disk to the existing array and then reconfig it.
