Please help, can't install some old games on XP

Here's the deal: when I try to install Quake or Shadow Warrior on XP the install window opens as it should in DOS, but then my keyboard input gets all screwed up. I have to type the install directory but none of the keys on my keyboard work properly.

Cannot install Age of empires2

Can anyone help me? When I used to try to install Age of empires 2, I used to get a message saying that I was missing the wnaspi32. dll file. So I downloaded it and installed it into my system and system32 folders.

dvd-rom compatibility

hi im new to the board and i need some help. i have a compaq evo n400c laptop and was wondering if anyone can tell me if an external dvd-rom drive by 'AOPEN' would have any compatibility problems? if its needed to know i am running windows xp.

Directx games stall 5-10 seconds for every minute of gameplay

I'm slosly going to try to upgrade my pc. I was reading a few guides and they said to first make sure the motherboard is capable of handling the upgrades. How do i see my current motherboard's limits? I'm not even sure what my current motherboard's name is.

Won't see new 2nd drive

I have a Dell 4600 with a sata hard drive (Maxtor 6Y160M0)I am trying to install a 2nd Segate drive (3200822A) which is just an ata drive. The computer is not seeing the new drive, I have even installed a different drive which I have data on and it will not see that either, it is also ata.
