How do you open the back of a pc?

I have an old packard bell (1998) and it was just fine until we moved & I think the movers played football with it. My pc guy where I used to live said to check inside but didnt remember how he opened it when he gave my an extra hard drive for just this kind of emergency.

I cannot seem to install NT 4. 0 on DELL Dimension 3000. Every time system get booted with CD, loads set of drivers and then flashs the screen and reboots. I have the sata IDE drivers which i load but still the same problem Please help.
