Well, my current pc is in too much of a state to continue upgrading, so I'm going for an entire new system. I know my way around a computer fairly well, but as this is my first full build I'm posting to get opinions and/or to see if I've made any oversights as to incompatible parts etc.

Opteron 148 or Athlon 64 3700+

I am going to be upgrading my Athlon 2800+ and saw that both the Opteron 148 and Athlon 64 3700+ were about the same price. Any idea what the difference between the processors is? I am going to be using it in conjuction with a Geforce 7800GT to play games with.

Roof won't delete

I built a roof and now it won't let me delete it. It shows up on every lot in the game and even if I destroy the lot, it will still appear again when I create a new lot. What should I do?.

Opteron with MSI board setup question

Just a question. . . I have an MSI Neo4 Platinum board. I want to build a file server with a massive amount of drive space. I want to use an Opteron 165 with this mobo along with WinXP x64. My question is will this work? The Opteron 165 is a 939 pin proc and I am pretty sure it will work with this board.

I have a Sidewinder FFW (gameport), but i don't have any gameport connection on my laptop. I tested using a gameport to USB converter, set both as a 4 axis 4 button, and as a 2 axis 8 button game device, but i can't get it working under Win2k.

Heroes of Might and Magic II WIndows XP Music doesn't work

Can anyone help with this problem? The Midi music works fine but when I change the setting to the regular music, the game is sluggish and the music doesn't play. I realize that the game was designed for Windows 95 but I'm hoping there's a way to fix this problem anyway.

I have a problem with my Dell D1728D-LS Monitor. I know this monitor will go up to 1280x1024 becuase the Dell site here says so: However, the driver that WinXp gives it is Plug and Play Monitor and it says it only lets me go up to 1024x768.

Why does screen split in game play?

Please help!!! When playing some games on my 19 tft screen, the display splits into 2 and is unreadable. I have tried changing the resolution options. But this creates furthur problems. Why does this happen to the majority of the games i previously played on the same computer with a different montior.

Can't get expanded memory working in WinXP for DOS mode

I've recently had a craving to play some of the old classic DOS games like Master of Orion, X-COM etc, but I can't seem to get expanded memory working in Windows XP. I've tried everything and no matter what I do I can't get expanded memory working in WindowsXP for DOS apps.

Need for speed: most wanted install problem

i run on win2000 sp 4 I have two LG DVD rewriters (different models) On the newer model. . the install fails on disk 2 (please insert disk two even though it is in) On the older model i get to disk 3 before i get prompted to install proper disk over and over.

Extreme G-2 crashes to desktop when started

Extreme G-2 After installation, I double click the icon, it changes the resolution to the size set for the game, the windows hourglass cursor appears on a black screen, then the resolution changes back to the desktop setting and I'm back at the desktop again.
