Installed IE 7 public beta 2. Windows crashes at logon. Safemode doesnt work.

I just restarted the computer, booted into windows xp w/ sp2 fine, downloaded and installed IE 7 public beta 2 and restarted the computer again. When I get to the windows logon screen before I can click on my user profile the computer screen goes blank, shows the mouse, sits for a few seconds and restarts.

Windows media player 10 will not play links off the net?!?

For some reason I can't click on videos on the net and have them play in windows media player. When I click on a link it launches WMP10 and says: Windows Media Player cannot play the file. If the file is located on a removable storage card, insert the storage card.

Hi All, I got this barebones laptop, so I installed windows xp sp 1 by myself. I have a 60 gig HD, but made two partitions - each about 30 gigs. When windows xp cd started to setup the format, I only did the ntsf format on the C partition.

Everytime I insert a PC Card it detects it as a PCMCIA MTD-0002 device, no matter what PC Card I use. Cardbus controller is the Texas Instruments PCI-1211. Anyone have this problem under Win2k, Win98 SE is fine.
