Corrupted XP SP1

My old desktop with XP Sp1 was attached by Virus and I had cleaned it but may accindental deleted some XP files. I am now having the following problems:- 1) I can'telete my internet messages where I used a thirty party domen service which used Javascrip to command for file deleting.

Battlefield 1942 on Vista

I've been running Battlefield 1942 on Vista and it seems to run alright but there are various texture problems and the crosshairs are missing. Also buttons and sliders in the menu system are not present which makes it hard to chance settings.

Monkey Island 4: no character voice sound!

Any idea how i can the the character voices work? everything else works but not this and it spoils the game. is there a similar thing to DOSbox or SCUMM that works for this game to convert it to XP? thanks.

Portable 2.5" HDD Dropped

I have a 2. 5 HDD housed in an aluminum USB external casing. Yesterday I had a freak accident of dropping it on the solid concrete ground. At night, I tried plugging it into the USB port of a computer and I can hear it clicking but cannot spin up or read.

Starcraft installation problems

Hey, I'm trying to re-install starcraft on to my pc XP. I accidentally uninstalled it. But the soon as it starts installing, it (just the installation not the computer) freezes at about four bars (the ones marking the installation progress) into it.

Has anybody else noticed a recent influx of websites that redirect you to an ADBLOCKER page ?!? Seems to me that it's becoming more and more of a real problem but I guess that is their right to do so, it's their website.

Please help - data damage - laptop - portable HD

I got a problem when trying to transfer data(wav or mp3 files in this case) from my laptop to portable HD over the USB. It transfer normally without any errors, but when I listen the song, I hear some crack sounds during the play.

NTFS help

I recently was extracting a. rar file when i got the whole, this file is larger then 4gb thing. so i did a simple fat32 to a ntfs convert through my command prompt which started after i rebooted my computer.

Windows showing wrong free space

Ok. Im not the best Windows user in the world, but how come all of a sudden Windows shows that I have used about 48Gb more than I really have? Come on! What is the biggie! I really need to boost the space up again so that I can use my Western Digital Raptor Disk for demanding apps.
