Trouble replacing display on Toshiba Satellite lap

A family member asked me to replace her Toshiba M35x-s349 laptop display for her. I hooked up an external monitor to check video drivers, etc. . worked fine. After dismantling the unit I found that someone elso had been into it before and didn't replace all the screws.

Custom IE 8 Install? (Preset Settings?)

The company I work for has a program that essentially requires IE 8 to run. We use active x controls, so they must use the latest IE 8. Many of our distributors using IE 8 have difficulty setting up the exact settings we require.

VPN usage question

I have managed to set up two computers - server/client -and I can connect from the client to the server via the internet. at least it goes thru the motions and tells me it is connected. Now What?? what needs to be configured on the server to access resources there and how do I access them from the client?? thx.

I recently recieved a Dell Optiplex GX520 computer with Windows Xp Pro Sp2, and I connected a Western Digital My Book 1TB External Hard Drive, Everything worked fine until 2/19/10 When I installed a new video driver.

the sims 2 won't run?

i put the cd in the drive, it makes the familiar whirring noise, and i get a window asking me what i would liek to do with the disk; open it's file, or run the game. i click run game, the window closes and nothing happens.

Novell to Windows Server 2008 Migration

We're starting to plan a migration from Novell NetWare 6. 5 to Windows Server 2008. While we currently use the NDS in NetWare, we have no need to migrate it over to AD, as we have a separate server using AD; we've had a 2 system authentication for many years.

Star Wars KOTOR 2. Still having issues

Alright so. I'm still having issues with this game. . as it crashes when I try to start it. Im on Windows Vista Home Premium 64 bit edition, with a nVIDIA GeForce 9300 GE Graphics card. I read on another topic (before I created this account and lost that topic) that it was missing the file mss32.

I can watch the cutscenes no problem but as soon as I get to a menu/game the colors are horribly distorted. Relevant info: Tried compatibility mode Using Win7 64 bit have the 1. 6 patch have the silent threat installed.

Simcity 3000 in Windows 7

I can't seem to install Simcity 3000 in Windows 7. The program loads and I click install but then another screen pops up that says click ok when installation is complete. Nothing happens after that point though.

USB Not Recognized, after using wireless net card

I got a wireless internet card from us cellular and used it our lapout. we have 3 usb ports and throughout a month its went through each one by one, eventually no longer working at all. other things would work in them such as my phone and an ipod nano until the net card quit working in the last one.

Incomplete printing

In all honesty I'm not sure if this is hardware or software, HP seem to think it's my power cable. . . That seems laughable to me, but it would be hardware so here I am. Please move me if I'm wrong On with the problems! I had a fully functioning printer last week (HP Deskjet F2480 if it's relevant).
