Someone had posted this saying that Win2k only used 256k of your L2 cache by default. Anyone tried this? I have a 1meg L2 cache on my board and was wondering if this hack would help performance. Here it is: REGEDIT4 SecondLevelDataCache=dword:00000200.

2D Hardware Interpolation on any card in Win2k??

I have a Riva TNT card and in Win9x the card Interpolates 2D stretched bit map games like most Win32 emulators, NBA Hangtime, etc. . . Ever since switching to Windows 2000 I lost the hardware interpolation.

I just got a letter from Lexmark, where they promised that new Win2K drivers for Lexmark 3200 will be available April 10:th. . . . For those of you who couldn't get the NT4 drivers to work. .

I wasn't sure weither to post this in apps or games so i'll put it in both. Theres an app in the support folder on the win2k cd, apcompat. exe, that from what i see can let you choose to install the program so that it thinks its in win98/95/NT4.

I have an ASUS P3B-F motherboard with a Promise Ultra 66. My card is not a RAID. It installed with the driver on Win2k CD. All is well. It hibernates and stands by. Some people have noted problems with other controllers and other motherboards.

Microsoft yet again failed to bridge the gap between Windows and NT. Win2k is just another NT. . . . great for businesses and some individuals. Drivers for gamers suck or just don't exist, 50% of applications just don't run or have major problems (try and find an AV application for win2k!).

I've reinstalled W2K five times now. Each time after 2-3 days of use my primary SCSI drive begins constantly accessing itself for no reason. I look at the task manager and no processes are being used.

Hi, When I surf the net I very often right-click on a link to open it in a new window. When I used Netscape in Win NT and 98, Navigator remembered the size of the previous new window. For example, if I always maximized the new window, eventually Navigator would automatically maximize new windows.

A few things I would like to know about Win2k

A few things that bug me which make the Win2k experience seem a little weak: 1. How can I manually set the cache limit. I mean in an EXACT size though. Not the large system cache on or off thing. This is probably not possible, but it would be nice.

Does anyone know if there's a way (reg hacks) to move that God forsaken help item in the root of the start menu in NT4. I hate it, if i want help i come here or M$ knowledge base. Besides, if i needed basic help, I shouldn't be using NT4.
