Partition Magic (again)

I have the partition magic 5. 01 upgrade and as far as I can tell under win2k, all you can do is make rescue disks to boot from. I thought the new fancy version ran in naive mode as it does under NT4.

Win2k Defrag, and big files like zips, and Q3 pak

I just ran a defrag on my 12gb partition and it said at the end that it didn't process practically all of my large zip files, and especially my Quake 3 pak file. At 450 Megs it has, get this over 1600 fragmentations, and didn't unfragment it.

Modular Tech Modem

Does anyone know how I can get my internal Modular V. 90 modem (ISA) to work in Win2000? Since it is a softare modem I assume you need drivers, instead of using the standard ones. Looked on their website and they have said they will probably not be making Win2K drivers for the modem.

NTOSKRNL.EXE is corrupt!!! What to do???

My machine hase been up and running a month just fine and speedy. Last night I launched ICQ and ICQ itself locked and wouldn't respond. I reloaded ICQ and the same thing happened. I went to re-boot and then this is the error message I got NTOSKRNL.

I download the CamPack. zip from drewsky but when I try to update the driver it says there is no driver where it is looking and I pointed it to the dir where I unziped it but wont work?.

BIOS flash for v6800 saved my life

if you have the v6600 or v6800 and are having major problems with random lockups go to the asus site and get the new BIOS flash for these cards. . . i am running 3. 79 drivers and no lockups in windows 2000 FIRST TIME EVER!!!!!! YAY!!! gotta try the games, but desktop etc.

Killing a process.....

Is there a way to kill a process from the command line? Banyan Vines (yes, it still exists)starts two processes at login. The launch is done through the EXE as far as I can tell. The user needs to be able to log in, then the process needs to be stopped at startup.

nt setup/partition

i have a amd-k6/3-d 300mmx,160 ram. i am installing nt 4. 0 on a 4 gig h-drive. i formatted the h-drive with fat32 from a win98 bootup disk. i booted up and put in the 3 disks. on the last disk the screen says, setup cannot find your nt partition.

Acer PrisaScan 320P

Has anybody gotten the Acer PrisaScan 320P (or any other parrallel port based acer scanner) to work in Win2000 yet? I've tried the Win2k-EPP drivers but it really doesn't work, contrary to what the Hardware Compatibility list shows.

BP6, dual Cel, cpu usage always on 50%???

Hello, a friend of mine has just recently bought the following: Abit BP6 motherboard 2 x 533Mhz Celeron 128 Mb ram pc100 1 x Ultra 66, 20GB IBM Harddrive. He has a problem: The cpu-usage meter is always on 50%, even after a clean installation, without any special drivers, no programs, games or utilities.

Flight Unlimited II / Win NT 4.0

I spotted this game going cheap in a software store today, so I picked it up, under the presumption that it worked under NT 4. 0 (which it does according to this site). I tried running it straight off - no joy, it refused to install under NT.
