Windows won't save my settings

When I install Windows 2000 on a frsh install it won't save any of my settings such as resolution change or when I need to change drivers. Any suggestions. And yes I am in administrator mode. .

Server and Advanced Server only in 64, not x86????

Ronin was telling me that he could only find Server and Advanced Server for 64bit processors, not our beloved x86. Does this mean we, PIII and Athlon Users, will be limited to Pro and Personal?.

dma on hd won't work

Dma on my harddrive in Windows 2000 won't work. It worked fine in Windows 98. If I choose dma if available in the system manager it will only get PIO even thougt I know the hd can handele dma mode. Any solutions to this? The drive is a 10 GB Quantum ata/33.

Yo everyone, Just downloaded Whistler off the MDSN site (you must have an account) and all I can say is WOW! The install was a breeze, I was asked 2 questions and was given the option to change my network settings and that's it.

Occasionally, only in Win2k, my cdrom drive just freezes the computer, while my computer is reading from it, the computer just freezes, and the only way to restart it is to unplug it physically. My computer doesnt respond to anything, including numlock/capslock.

Lo there, I have 3 machines at home all running Win2000 which are networked together. I'm using standard BNC on every machine. The network was put together ages and ages ago when I ran win95, and as all the cables are in the walls I don't really want to start changing to something else.

Got this problem I've upgraded my pc with a KA7-100 Mainboard and a Athlon 900 mhz cpu. . The problem is that my isdn card seems to install correctly. . . . I can even log on to the net. . . . . but after a while I get Blue screen of death.

Recently I tried to update the drivers for my Voodoo banshee (creative) board in WIN2K. When I did, all of the colers went to 16. Before, I could go to 32 bit with the windows drivers. I tried to uninstall, but it would always make me reinstall the same Beta drives that screwed me up.

I have a external V. 90 modem(something with a Rocwel chip) on COM1. It's annoying to have to reboot every time I try to dial a connection and the modem wasn't on when the windows was loading. Is there a way for the OS to load the driver for the modem ven if it is on? Thnx.
