Program Focus messed up...

Ok, does anyone know why when I run a new program that it doesn't get the focus and becomes the app on top? I do have the latest TweakUI installed and have tried to change the Application Focus setting but it does nothing.

I'm trying to use 4. 0 server on a sony pcg705 notebook. I'm using an pcmcia netgear nic, this configuration works with 98. nt won't find the nic on boot i've checked the bios and theres no provision for keeping the pcmcia power up.

Is it Possible to install Windows 2000 Server on TOP of Windows 2000 Professional? WITHOUT losing data. . . . I want to know if it is possible to pop in the CD and install. (or boot from the 4 floppies and install) Please no smart alec answers.

I have this share that I have had up for months now, and it is not working now. I am on a school's network sharing my MP3 drive with someone else. The share keeps telling me access is denied. I have checked to make sure the user is added and the share is correct.

I am running Whistler build 2296 Professional. Where is that Cute graphical Shut Down Menu that has been shown in the reviews? Did they rip it out of build 2296? Am I missing a setting? Does it only appear in Personal edition, or do I have to be in workgroup mode? I know the start screen only shows up in workgroup ...

Just loaded in the new beta bios ver 1005. 03e. Finally, I can run my Geforce at AGP 4x and it's perfectly stable. I have all the default options loaded in the BIOS w/optimal settings and everything's sweet.

Nortons Internet Security 2.5 and ICQ problems

I loaed Nortons last nite and then tried to use ICQ, I couldnt connect, I bounced between several accounts, finally one worked, and then later I eventually got into all of them but, when I tried to return to my accounts after dis-connecting, no luck.

Here`s whats happening: I am playing game, it`s running great, but suddenly my computer restarts. I have RESTART COMPUTER ON ERROR or something like taht DISABLED. But computer still restarts. WHY? It`s driving me nuts!!!.

Win ME and sudden HD access

I just installed winME, and started up Rollcage 2. Then after a while playing (second track, lap 2) the framerate got choppy. I noticed the HD was accessed in the background (not by the game). . I have 448MB ram so it isnt low ram/disk swap, I also have disabled scheduled tasks.

Has anybody been able to install Whistler with the Promise Fasstrak 66 card? All other os's install just fine but Whistler just hangs after it says Starting Windows Whistler during the text based portion of setup.

OK, when booting Whistler on my Athlon 700 I've been getting this STOP 0x0000001E Unhandled K_mode exception (albeit not my PII 400). Further, win2k Server has absolutely no such problem, so it isn't like I have any hardware win2k supports or whatever.

Just thought I'd post my own views of Whistler. I loaded ver 2296 and ran it for a few days. Overall it has a lot of promise, its quick, its semi-stable(I say this because its not fully developed yet and I did manage to crash it a few times) and it has some very nice features that are missing from Win2k.

Icons look 's like 256 color in 32 bit mode

My icons in Win2k desktop looks like 256 color mode. I am configured in 32 Bits colors i have switch on the display icons with max colors in my preferences. I make test with Gforce256 and ATI rage 128.

Hey Hey Guys : Well i am running Win2k Prof and it so nice. But the thing is that i have a small problem which that i get the Blue Screen (Memory Sumping) if i left my Computer ON for a Long time.
