Different default applications for different users?

Is there any way to change the default application for different users on the same machine? Scenario: I use WinAmp for my MP3s, and basically keep all of my MP3s in the playlist, so when my brother opens WinAmp under his account, my playlist is there.

Task Manager Tabs Gone.. how to get them back?

A month back or so I don't know what happened. But suddenly the tabs in my Task Manager is gone. I only have the default stuff showing up in the Task Manager, where I can End Task and so on. But the other tabs where I can see CPU usage and other things are gone.

Asus V7700 and 3D glasses

I just got myself one of those 7700 Geforce2 GTS's and spent like 2 hours tinkering with the glasses to get them to work right. Thought I could try saving someone else the time. The first thing I found is that you need to have a monitor that can do at least 1280x960 if you want to get any OpenGl games to run in 3D.

Is the Windows 2000 CD-Key stored in the registry? I lost my COA and stupid me went and formatted my RAID array. Luckily I still had my old hard drive with Win2k on it. I searched all through the registry, but I can't find it.

Hello! check this picture out: ok here is what I have to say, the controllers + dial (up-down-left-right) is concerning me. If they are not a real + but more like an o with dots (hope you're following me here) it's hard to hit left without touching up or down or hold up or down withouth dipping to left or right.

hibernation lost in whistler

hi there! i'm running (clean install) whistler beta1 and although i had hibernation in win2k, in whistler is gone. Please notice that the hibernation tab is there and checked. When i select shut-down computer i have only 3 choices: sleep, turn-off, restrart.

Ok, so I finally took the leap to windows 2000, I found this great site, and looked to make sure all my games/apps were compatible. I looked up one of my favorite oldie but goodie, theme hospital. Says it works in Win 2000.

Hi all. Perhaps this has been answered before. I'm having a problem with restarting or shutting down in w2k. After the initial shut down screen comes and goes, and the desktop disappears I am left on a black screen.

I plan on getting a new hardrive soon , and was debating SCSI vs. ATA100. I already have an Adaptec 2940U. This is just my home rig, 'Net, gaming, word processing, etc. I'm looking for comments/suggestions on the performance difference between picking up a ~18GB UltraSCSI drive for my card, and a ~20GB+ATA100 card.

Hi everybody, I have this very strange problem with Windows 2000 SP1. As soon as I install SP1 on my computer, the computers never restarts and gives me the messages: INACCESSBILE BOOT DEVICE (again and again) and I have to reinstall windows.

Well, 6 months ago I bought W2K and everything was fine until I tried to install Fallout 1 yesterday. It refused to work and even the methods shown on NT Compatible did not help me at all (-> copy all data to HD and install it manually).

Printing works fine under Win2k, as well as doing a manual copy; however, the scanner piece just does not want to work. Installed all of HP's software and updates(from their webpage including their Win2k scanner patch), and nothing seems to work.
