I just read about free proxy servers that you can subscribe to. . . so you can do your internet browsing without letting your IP address get out. Anybody know anything about this service? Is it slow? Is it secure? Is it worth my time? It SOUNDED like a nice think to try.

Red Alert 2 NOT Working with Win2000

I am running Windows 2000 Service Pack 1. I did a fresh install and set up Win2000. Then I installed Red Alert 2 and played it for a short while. It worked perfectly. Then I installed some other applications (Word 2000, CuteFTP, Goldwave sound editor, etc.

monitor power saving.....

The monitor power saving feature lets you shut off the monitor after a certain time with no user input. Apparantly, the only input that is counted is from the mouse or keyboard. My problem is when I am playing games using only my gamepad (USB Gravis Xterminator), because after a while the monitor will shut off.

Links 2001 Won't Install

I can't get MS Links 2001 to install under Windows 2000 Professional. When I insert the CD the autorun just pops up this window with a ! icon and a ok button. Click the ok button and it closes. Same thing happens if I manually try to run the setup.

come on admins, enough of the a-s-s censoring! Please just set it to censor the word a-s-s, not all words containing it. There are plenty of English words that contain those letters that are not at all vulgar.

Diablo II and multiplayer, Please help!

Why is diablo unable to connect ot any server when running under win2k? I can make a server and everyone is able to join and singleplayer works great. When I try to connect to b. net it stops when verifying versions.

I have a Diamond Supra Express 56i V PRO running under win2k, and when I installed the beta drivers i got an error message on a blue screen. This doesnt happen when im offline so im assuming there is a driver problem to do with the modem.

In Dxdiag, Msinfo and Internet Explorer I get garbled text. I have put a picture showing what I mean. in that photo I copyed the garbled text and pasted it into notepad. It magically became legible. Does anyone know why it does this?!?.

My MSI K7T Pro Motherboard is tweaking out. . For some reasons my CPU fan wont work. . even if i plug it in the second fan header. . It did it and a friend suggested me clear my CMOS. . i did and boom fan was working again.

CUSL2 supports Hibernate?

I don't see an option for hibernate in Win2k on my new CUSL2 mobo, is that because it's not supported or what? Device manager says it's an ACPI PC and I've updated the latest Intel INF's but I have NOT installed SP1 (ick) In case of an emergency, break glass, scream, bleed to death.

Has anyone here installed TW2001? When I try to install it I get the error message TW2001 does not currently run in Windows NT. I've tried QFixApp with Win95VersionLie but that did not work. Has anyone else had any success? Thanks for your help.

lol i feel for all you people still stuck on windows 2000, at the weekend i finally decided i had had enough and formatted my Hard Drive. Installed win98SE and WOAH what a difference. Games ran faster, windows ran faster, no caching problems, no more physical memory dumps, ahh life is good now.
