XP Killer features?

I haven't played with any of the betas, so I'm wondering what the killer features of XP are. Windows 2000 had a funky new layout, improved reliabilty and security and ofcourse Active Directory. I don't think offering a skinable OS is really going to entice people to upgrade, so there must be something else there.

windowsXP & Counter Strike- cant use update or refresh :

i installed windowsXP and the problem is when i go into counter strike, the update & refresh fucntions dont work. It updates servers but doesnt refresh and all severs have ? marks next to them. Anyone know whats the fix- or problem?.

Blue Screen in games on Win2k, Help!

Problem in Windows 2000 Pro SP1. Every now and then when I play one of my games i have been getting a Blue screen talking about a iraq error or something? i dont believe its a irq error, it then says its going a memory dump.

yep you heard me, m8 of mine has foudn out that yet another release of whistler is out, i question it myself. . i mean so soon?? i am not sure as to the reliablity of this site, but heck, it seems as though it is out.

Hi,wonder if anyone has any suggestions for this problem I am having. I am trying to install NT4. 0 as a second O/S together with w98. I bought partition magic 6. 0 to help with the installation and have resized drive c where win 98 is and created a new primary FAT partition for winnt.

I got the following setup, pIII 500, 8. 0 gb,128k ram, running win 98. I want to dual boot with nt4. 0( would rather w2k but it has to be nt4 unfortunately). With Partition magic 6. 0 I set up new primary partition so that it now looks like the following; c: win 98 2.

Hello, I have a question about a gamepad i installed under windows 2000 as administrator. The administrator is the only one who can use the gamepad. All other user can't see the gamepad in the control panel under gamecontrols.

hmmm. . . its simple, i got winamp running and my internet stops working right, i cant connect to servers, cant download things. . . then i close winamp and everything runs fine again. i tried reinsalling winamp and still no work.

I've tried to burn a bootable CD following the instructions from but after burning it, and trying to boot from the CD, the bootmanager reports: NTLDR missing Is there a way to make a bootable CD from a Windows 2000 upgrade CD files?

Hi guys/girls I got Win2k installed recently. . and it has locked my DVD region. . . and i dont know where to find Remote selector 1. 77 to see if it will work. . i have downloaded a firmware patch which is supposed to make it RPC1 or something as opposed to RPC2 which is what locks it as RPC1 wasnt region locked.

Hello all, I'm impressed with this website, but until now have been nothing but a lurker. I have alot of experience with Win2k from work, But until now I've always used 98SE at home. I just loaded Win2k Pro, and while trying to load all my games back up, I've had ALOT of problems, hence this post.
