Look at the top of any folder or Explorer window on your screen. See that Address bar? It's not just for Web addresses, you know. You can also use it to issue commands and to navigate your hard disk.

Getting rid of Desktop Icons ??

Is there a way of getting rid of the System Desktop Icons off my desktop ?? I mean the 'My Computer', 'My Network Places' and the 'Recycle Bin' ones. I just want NOTHING on my desktop and to access these from the taskbar launchers.

Just trying to update my drivers but when I do the update, I get:- An error occurred during the installation of the device The system cannot find the file specifed. Whats wrong? how can I find out what file its talking about? now when I try to reinstall the old drivers I get the same.

Goofy NFS 5 Problem

Just reinstalled Win2K with SP2 RC 2. 52 and detonator 7. 52 drivers. I have noticed that whenever i switch resolutions in NFS Porsche Unleashed to anything above 640x480, i will get the standard windows hourglass icon stuck in the corner.

Windows 2000 and Old Dos Programs

I just installed Windows 2000 on my computer and some DOS issues arose! I have a few old DOS programs that I'm trying to run. Two out the three seem to run fine. However, the one that won't run is looking for the following commands: Files=55 Buffers=40 I did a sysedit and put these in the config.

NT4 -> Win2k move painful

I am pretty experienced with both NT4 & Win2K but I have a problem I don't know how to handle. The situation is moving a user from NT4 to Win2K. I did NOT want to run an upgrade, because the machine was unstable enough that it seemed like it would be better to do a fresh install and just move data over.

I have a laptop that I want to make a ghost image of the hard drive. I want to create a network bootdisk, so I can connect to a share on my other computer, to store the image to. I have a packet driver for DOS for the network card, but I am not sure what to put in my config.

My hardware is getting pretty long in the tooth and I'm thinking about upgrading my processor and motherboard (currently I have a o/c'ed Celeron 400 (to 500) on an Abit BX6 Rev. 2 motherboard). I was looking at getting an Athlon Thunderbird 1000 or 1100 Socket A on an Abit KT7-RAID Motherboard.
