SP1 Kills my PC!

When I install it (it installs succesfullty,. . . ), it kills my pc! When I restart, it gives me one of those stop errors, tells me to turn off all new hard-drives, uninstall any new IDE controllers and restart! This happenes in the middle of the start up screen (the one with the Win2k logo and the progress bar).

Strange bootup HDD scan !?

OK, I just got that ME installed Toshiba 2800 notebook and on reboots, some occasional times it happens that ME prompt me that the notebook wasnt shutdown properly and started the HDD scan on its own, in fact it was the case on previous shut down.

Netwok games under Win2k

Hello, I cant get network games to run under win2k. The games come up saying there is a network error. I have two computers with D-link 10/100 cards and a hub, using CAT5 cable. Im pretty sure the other computer has SP1 installed.

I'm having trouble installing NT 4. 0 Server. When setup finished copying all files, and when the comp restarted, I get a INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE error. I can't find a way around it, I installed Win98 thinking it has something to do with the bootloader, but there is no boot.

Does Windows 2000 come with a default aspi driver?

While trying to set up Media Jukebox 6 to use with my CDRW it says it is unable to find any aspi drivers and can not detect my burner. Anyone know what this could be about? My Slug. <> Abit BE6 II rev 1.

What's the deal? Why so many operating systems? Which one will be the best for me? What's Micro$oft trying to do here? I know Win2k is based on NT, are all these others going to be also? Or are they still going to be based on DOS? I'm so confused.

Running Office XP on W2k. Every timeI open Word, Excel, Access or FrontPage, the floppy drive is accessed, slowing down loading. A floppy in the drive keeps it happy. No files have been saved to floppy (Word trick) and Fast Find (Indexing Service) is disabled.

I am trying to install the above, version 3. 7 onto my Win2K Pro partition (D:, FAT32). When I try I get the error that it is unable to create a temporary directory and that I must have at least 814kb of free space (or something similar).

I remember a looooonnngg time ago seeing a download section that had Voodoo 2 drivers for NT5 and the DX4NT5 hack. So where did it go? Or am I just blind? I've been meaning to ask for awhile but I uhh didn't.

I HATE it when Dr. Watson trys to debug huge programs! Quake crashes and since it's on fullscreen, I can't get out fast enough to cancle the debug! I was away and my firewall block MS Word, Word crashed and it debuged word! What can I do?.

Ok, so Nvidia bought 3Dfx, just curious has to when both chipsets are gonna be combined and IF even. I mean, seeing a GeForce 4 or something like a Voodoo GeForce video card with 3Dfx and Nvidia chips on it would be nice.

get the ie6setup. exe file downloaded and make a batch file with this in it ie6setup /c:ie6wzd. exe /d /s:#E then save the bat file in the dir where ie6setup. exe is and run the bat file this will allow you to download the the ie6 setup files for 9x or win2k or nt 4 to disk without having to install it right away.

Decent win2k drivers for TNT2

I want to be able to run OpenGL in win2k, but to keep desktop stability cos when i use 5. 32 detonators (best for TNT2's) win2k crashes a lot, so im on 7. 17 atm, as theyre reliable, but dont do OpenGL.

I am going to order DSL service to my apartment and I am gonna share it with 4 other computers. I know that I can share a single DSL connection to 4 computers by buying Broadband Router like D-Link DI-704 but I don't like its built-in Firewall protection.
