Control Panel Gaming Option Initialization Error

When I go into my Gaming Options in the control panel, I get an 'initialization error'. I click OK and it goes away. I have no gaming devices installed and would like to have this reset to clear out the message if possible but it doesn't show up in any of my event logs.

What kind of tools does everyone use to monitor your webservers? I am looking for a good piece of software to do this. Price is no problem, but it must run on a Windows machine. Does anyone know of any good programs? TIA.

First up, please don't bag me for playing EQ My problem is the system is really really slow under W2K. Zoning is slow, getting to the character select screen takes ages (goes to a black screen for a while before showing characters) and I also can't play mp3's or vqf's in the background.

For the longest time I've thought that the max speed any harddrive can do is just 40something megs per second. . . . this goes for all flavors of ATA and SCSI, etc. . . I felt that things like Ultra160 just refers to the bandwidth that that particualr interface can handle simultainiously.

This is for my home system. Presently I have Millenium on C: and W2K on E:. I would like to delete Millenium and go back to (problem free) Win98SE. Problem is that C: is my system drive and W2K will not work if I format C:.

Hi, Just a little question about the best way to do a fresh install of Win2K !! Some Guys Says That, You have to install SP1, and after SP2, other ones says that you just have to install Sp2, and It's all right !!!! So what do you think of this ??? Tery.

While playing Starcraft on BattleNet under Win2k, I often have problems joining games after I've played a few games. When I hit join game, the games available pop up, but everything shows up red and when I try to join, it says cannot connect or something like that.

Hi, Performed a clean install fro ma slipstreamed Win2k SP2 CD last night. All was going swimmingly, until I tried to burn a cd. Tried Easy CD Creator (4. 03b) and Nero (5. 5. 1. 8) and both failed at the point where they were about to start burning.

I feel that Im in the minority of people who have not had problems with, or hate, Via. I want to see how many people really have had issues with a Via based board, because it seems that many people dont like Via.

Restart problem continued

When I load a program up and the OS needs to restart for changes to take place, Windows tries to restart but the computer shuts down. I then have to manually reboot. I hope this helps the earlier post.

Myst III on Win2k anyone?

Has anyone had any success with Myst III: Exile and Win2k? I can do the install, but crash to a blue screen right after starting the game (after the splash screen). I just installed DirectX 8a and am running the Detonator 3 drivers for my Nvidia GeForce 2.

A Few weeks ago all my icons changed to weired colours and the folders went to what looks like 95 design very blocky, I reinstalled Windows 2K and the problem was fixed but it is now back, It appeared after I accidently opened Netmetting.

How to Remove SP2 Backup files?

so far iv installed SP2 on my comp & its works great. i want to know delete the backup files becuase i have no need to keep them cause win2k is running great. . how do i get rid oh the backup files?.
