Hi, for those of you that have ever had problems with skipping/looping etc. in a game have any of you tried the new windows driver that is out? I found it on the front page of this site. I don't have win2k installed, but was wondering if it helped with the sound in games because I want to play High Heat Baseball 20 ...

I am trying to upgrade Me with 2475 Home and am getting an error message stating Windows XP setup can not determine what version of Windows I am using and will quit. Has anyone had this problem, and is there a workaround? I dont want to do a clean install because I will loose to much stuff!!! Thanks, John.

I am trying hard to set up ntbackup tasks in W2K Advanced server. Everthing works well when i start the backup immediately and manuell. But if I try to create a task (for example 6. 00 in the morning) it does not work.

After I mirrored my boot disk on the server, it told me that You have mirrored your boot volume. To be able to boot from the mirror disk, add the appropriate entry to your boot. ini file What entry is it talking about? Where can I find info? Will my server bootup properly unless I modify this boot.

Hey folks - is XP 2474 or 2475 ready for prime time yet as your primary OS? I tried beta2 and some pre-beta2's but ran into problems with games, my highpoint controller (which I am no longer using - have a Promise 100 controller instead) and various unexplained crashes.

Santa Cruz EAX sounds uh .. horrible

after several attempts at playing halflife with EAX on, ive given up. the volume of sounds is extremely quiet compared to regular wave sounds with eax on, and the reverb is horrible. sounds like im playing in a giant tile covered bathroom! a3d didnt appear to work at all either.

How to turn off a starup item?

Using 9x for so long, I'm not sure how to remove this program. When I start my computer, some app that runs but isn't in the StartUp folder immediately crashes and is closed. . Figures. I'm used to running MSCONFIG to turn these things off.

Hey! I just got a new computer with windows 2000. I have a pioneer dvd-116 dvd rom and it wont read anything except for audio cds. I was wondering if anyone knew how to fix this. Thanks so much for your help.

Which OS should I choose?NT4 or Windows 2000? I have an AMD Athlon Thunderbird 1Ghz,512Mb Ram. I spend 90% in 2D and 3D graphics softwares. Can anyone who know about these things,give me some advice on which one of these I should choose and why? Thankfull for any help.

Two Mice On One Computer

I have this new cordless keyboard that I got from work and it has a scroll ball and two buttons that function as a mouse. My problem is that I would like to have the keyboard (that takes up both PS2 keyboard/mouse) and have my regular mouse on the USB (this is the mouse my wife prefers).

Log Off, Nvidia & Games Crashing

Hi Guys, I noticed something very strange. With a clean reboot, I can play games perfectly. Though if I log off and start a game, a blue screen of death comes up with IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL. This happens with Nvidia beta drivers (7x,11x,12x) but the official 6.

Full Acceleration Direct Sound Works on older games after SP

I am a long time fan of Total Annihilation and some other older games but have been hampered by sound problems with the SBlive Platinum. In particular if you have your DirectSound acceleration turned all the way up you could lose sounds or sound quality in these older games.

W2K Installation Woes

I currently have the Win2k Pro Upgrade cd and an unable to install the o/s. When it wants proof of previous o/s I stick in my Win95 (osr2) cd and the Win2k installation fails to recognize that cd. Has anyone else experienced this problem? What are my options? Thanks, Mote.

Hi I have just install ie6 2469 and sp2 (french) for my win2k. before when i highlight a mp3 or a movie , i have a litlle toolbar in the explorer to listen or view it. Now no more toolbar , it disappear, no more preview ! Any idea , ie6 fault or sp2 ? Thks PS : sorry for my poor english Sav.
