Conexant Smart MC II v.90 integrated modem

I have a Sony Vaio PCG-FX140 laptop, on which I installed NT and have been unable to get the modem to work. I actually have been unable to find the drivers for it. I tried to use the driver package for Win 2000 supplied by Sony, but it wouldn't run on my machine.

Newbie here. How can I setup my accounts so that they relect any changes I make as admin and certain power users? Im tired of installing/setting up software as admin and not having those progs in the power users start menu and not having the same settings I took forever to setup.

Kenwood 72x in win2k

I have a kenwood 72x cd-rom that was fully functional in win me. I recently switched to win2k and now I can't read cd mode 2 discs. Everything else works fine. So I talked to some ppl, and apparently, the 72x isn't fully supported in win2k.

Just a quick question. On one of my systems running win2k sp1 I have the tab that has the save , print , send, and file pictures just hanging around on the top left corner of my desktop. It's the same tab that pops up when you move your mouse over a picture.

Ok hers the scenario: Get my IWILL Raid card installed and the 2 maxtor 30 gig'rs on it. Boot up, create a raid 0 array. Reboot, throw in a bootable burnt disc with win2k pro on it. Disc loads up, I hit f6 at the appropriate time.

helle everyone! I have a problem with my soundBlaster Live! 1024 Surround System in Win2k: Two of the speakers work, and so does the subwoofer (but not in the quality as it does in Win98). So how can I hear something from the Rear Speakers too? I mean, its a surround system and I can only hear from the front.

hey, want to boost my system a little bit. Is there a way to load your OS into the and / or other prefered Apps? After booting i have about 290megs of RAM left (totally 426megs@1Gig Thunderbird)? Is there any Programm or Reg-Key or so that i can manage that problem? Thanx for your help Joe.

In the last few days, when I connect to the internet (Motorola SM56 Fax Modem), I make it normally. . . . it connects! But when I try to open a page it seems to download data (the little blue monitors at the bottom right of the screen are continuously blue,you know.

I'd like to know how to disables InfoTips under Win2k cause there's one that corrupts graphics under several programs, among them being Eudora Pro ? This particular InfoTip appears bottom-right when my connection is open, it indicates I'm connected to my provider at x bps/s.

I got it to work, even with com5. I changed the port address for com1 and com2 to AUTO in my Abit motherboard Bios. Restarted, and reinstalled drive, and that was it. It still say COM5 but it now responds when i click more info.

I use intensively the Computer Management console that is built-in in Windows2K(SP2). . . . I have found one annoyng thing. . . . every time I start the Computer Management console the windows that opens doesn't use the size/options entered in the last session.

Anyone had any experience with these? PSX controllers are easily the finest available, PC gamepads always seem to feel cheaply designed and lack a good button setup. Do the converters work alright in W2K?.

Win2k install via an upgrade disk

Heres the poop. I was asked if one could install a new , clean copy of win2k using an upgrade disk. The answer is yes* * = 2 cd drives on your system. If you have 2 cd drives then you only need to direct the question of where is the prior windows installation to the cd drive that you have the win98 cd in.
