Router vs Hub

Can someone explain to me the difference between a hub and a router? I have two computers hooked up to my cable modem through a hub. What advantages/disadvantages would a router bring? Thanks in advance.

Hello, I am having following problem with my Win2k. My Win2k keeps turning off screensaver after each shutdown. Whenever I turn on the screensaver, Win2k would lose the screensaver information when I shutdown the computer.

hi I read what was posted in the message below about policy editing for NT 4. 0 server but i still need help. I've got win 2k server running with active directory and crap. on the server, i created a user named server and added him as a member of a group that i created so he can log onto the server locally.

Fixed Joystick disappearing problem

I've noticed a few people have had a problem with the Joystick disappearing under Windows 2000. The symptoms typically are that the joystick doesn't work in any games. If you go into control panel->game controllers, the joystick shows up as unknown for about 2 seconds, and then shows OK.

Problem binding keys in Thief/System Shock2

Certain keys don't work in these games; I can't bind the ctrl key to crouch, like I had it in Win98. I also can't get into the chat screen in SS2. Any ideas?.

The STOP message is KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT HANDLED. I do have an OC'd system, but it does it regardless the speed, and everything else runs fine. I have an MSI 694D Pro-AR and am using the Promise FastTrack ATA100 PCD 20265 on-board controller with the latest BIOS from MSI.

ok, this is probably a silly question, but is there a program out there that will convert an ntfs drive back to fat32 without formatting? If not, what formatting program will do this, as there does seem to be anything on the win2k cd to do this conversion.

Dxr3 make my win2k machine to boot

If I put in my brand new dxr3 card, win2k will not completly start. It only comes to the start bar ( when you got a indicator on how much win2k have loaded up before login ) I tried all my pci ports, but with no luck.
