Maxtor 100GB Hard Drives, really worth it?

Just asking for opinions here, but why oh why is Maxtor making these huge *** IDE hard drives? I've seen things like 40, 60, 80, 100 GB hard drives, in my opinion, it's a waste of time to even get a drive that big considering the most that goes on those things is your OS, and a few applications, the rest is on CD.

RAID still sluggish under RC1?

I have an Abit KT7-A RAID board with an Athlon 1. 2 ghz. When I recently tried out build 2485/6, I noticed like a few people that the system became really sluggish. Finally traced it down to the Highpoint drivers used for the RAID.

NTFS version question

ok after having more problems with fat32, it was time to convert to NTFS. I converted all my partitions to NTFS , just leaved a small one to be able to reach from dos. But problem is I converted while I was on RC1 so now my partitions are Beta NTFS 5.

Win ME takes FOREVER to browse network!

Using WinME instead of Win 98 SE just for the hell of it. But browsing the network seems to take a REALLY long time. Does anyone know why and how to fix it? Stupid as Win 9x platform! Errr! I hate it! I hate it a lot!.

Will SP3 W2K be needed ever arrive ?

I'm thinking that with XP around the corner, could we see Microsoft stop 'supporting' W2K saying that 'it's there' in an effort to get us to go to XP ?? I'm very content with W2K (don't know about how others are fairing under SP2) so it could be that an SP3 might not be needed anyway.
