RealMagic Hollywood + and his Remote Control

Hi, I've an Hollywood + and his remote control. I've download the latest driver on sigma designs site. The card works great but the Remote Control is not viewing by Windows 2000. It seems to be a problem with my COM 2 (where the IR receiptor is plugged) because the RC program say that he can't found it.

This is just an exmaple of how much trouble product activation is going to cause customers, and I experienced it first hand. I signed up for the WinXP Beta program and just yesterday, i got around to installing RC1.

1st post here. . I tried to install Visual Studio. NET beta 1 on WinXP RC1, no way , it needs Win2K and Service Pack 1. Is there anyway to fool it is on Win2K SP1 ? A friend of mine said Visual Studio.

Anybody have problems getting their sound working in Win 2000 Pro? I am running a dual boot 98/2000. My sound works beautiful in 98, but not even a peep in 2000. It won't detect my soundcard with plug n play, but when I put in my Live!Ware Windows 2000 it appears that it is installing fine.

Using Win2KPro. Have not yet downloaded SP1, SP2, or the MS Compatibility file(s). Only problems with move from 98SE to 2KPro have, so far, been a scanner exe. file sucking up resources, and a Logitech driver that caused a reboot when coming back from sleep mode.

When i recently installed the newest version of IE 6 avaiable i noticed that you can no longer play embedded Quicktime videos. YOu must first save it & then play it. Does anyone know a way to fix this or why this is?.

I'm running windows 2000 on a celeron 500, with 64mb ram, 12gb hd, and a riva tnt 2, I was running on a FAT32 filesystem, and then I changed to NTFS, and windows started to crash, I changed again to FAT32 but win still crashes, the cause isn't the filesystem.

The registry demons I had in 98SE have been popping up more and more frequently. I've decided to cut my losses, back up my data at work, and format the damn drive. I have a 30 gig 7200rpm maxtor, which currently has only 1 FAT32 partition.

When W2KPro is booting, the Windows. wav plays fine; ie. . . . left and right channels. When any other wav. plays after boot-up, the left channel drops out and/or to hear the left channel the balance control must be shifted way to the left.

I have a Diamond MX300 (Vortex 2) card in my System, and I have incredibly low volumes. I have to turn ym speakers up to around the 70-80% mark to get any decent volumes, and get quite a bit of crackling and sound loss in XP RC1 Perhaps the Card itself is dying, and if so what do you recommend? I've seen the reports about this new Nvidia chip that has sound and graphics all intergrated? Why would anyone want intergrated sound and graphics? You are at the mercy of the chip maker if you go that way.

Hello all My m/b is Abit BF6 with latest bios. I have just done a clean full install of Windows 2000 - also, ACPI and PnP o/s were disabled in the bios - I did not want install ACPI so that I could control my IRQ allocations via BIOS.

Hey, I need some help with my partitions. . . I need to change the order of the partitions, and not only for Win2k, but really change it. . . I have one 40gb disk, with 2 partitions on it, one 15gb © and one 25 (E), plus a 30gb disk, with just one partition on it (D).
