WIth windows 9x, if we go to shutdown -> shutdown -> ok, the computer really shutdown, with win2k the computer shows a msg: It's now safe to shutdown or something like that, is there any way to put win2k to really shutdown, and don't show that msg? Simão Mata webdesigner.

unstable media player ?

Sometimes the media player in RC1 wont play a specific avi or mpeg file, even if it could play it before. If I log off and on again it works fine again. Is this a bug in the media player or has anyone else seen this ? Seems a little unstable to me.

How do you get menu fading in ME?

In the Millenium beta's there was alpha blending, menu fading, the cursor was like 2000's etc. When they released it proper there was none of the stuff that makes W2K look good. Some how I don't believe it got left out, more likely disabled.

ok - i just reinstalled win2k professional from cd rom after reformatting. . . . now outta no where, my monitor will go black. . . not turn off, but more like as if the cord was not plugged fully into the video card.

I am having a weird problem. I am doing a fresh install of 2k on a p3 500 mhz computer from gateway. It goes as far as the initial setup wizard screens. After it finishes an saves the info it reboots.

Hi Whenever I do a clean install of 2k I always reformat the HD with NTFS, and every time after it spends 30min doing it says it can't because of some error. The HD was bought this year and is IBM so it should be fine.
