My old WinME setup would go from turn on the power switch to desktop in about 35 seconds. W2K takes about 60 seconds to do the same. Is this a quick or slow boot-up ? Is there ANY way to make it noticably quicker ? David.

The other pcs on the lan appear in XPs Net Neigh and i can share files etc, but it insists the cable isnt connected and i cant share the ...

Hi Guys, I just noticed that Norton 2001 Auto Protect cannot work in RC1. When it starts it notifies that it will make the system unstable and therefore doesnt load it. I updated it from Symantec Site but doesn't work.

I've just recieved and installed WinXP RC1. Before that I was running Beta2. This WinXP Pro machine is connected to an AD Domain. Under Beta2 I simply installed the Server tools from a Win2k Server CD.

The current version of Partition magic that I own will not run unless its under windows 2000 (I had it installed on 2k before I upgraded and now have it installed in XP). I ran it in compatibility mode and made the neccesary changes to the partitions, which requires a restart.

Well, almost. I have found a workaround that enables Glide-equivalent performance under Windows XP using OpenGL, including RC1 and above. At the moment, I will supply specific instructions, but I soon will provide drivers on my site.
