XP can't see ME but can ping it

I have my network set up flawlessly under Windows ME - Windows ME under TCP/IP. I just recently installed XP (RC2) (upgraded my dual boot) and now I can't access other computers on the LAN. They can be pinged but not accessed.

When I click SHUTDOWN my system reboots instead!!!!! Anyone have this problem? Any ways to fix this? I have: Asus A7V Athlon 1133MHz ATI Radeon 32MB DDR Thanks guys. .

Network sharing problem in XP

OK, before anybody responds with, its a reset. exe problem, its not. I have not used any method of cracking activation on my installs, I used a 60 day activation key. Problem: I have 2 comps on a home LAN, one running WinMe, the other running a dual boot WinMe/XP(various attempts from RC1 to 2532).

RC2 and no QuickTime plugin

Is that suppose to be code complete RC2 release? IE still NOT displaying plugins properly - no QuickTime functionality no Q3PLUg. Seems to be ignoring anything which is in PLUGIN folder. Good job, MS.

Poor Performance in my WinXP RC2

Hello there. . . I am encountering bad performance in my WindowsXP RC2. Is is 'normal' or not? I mean: Logon screen images fades and moves very slov (like framerate=5) Mouse cursor stops from time to time If simple task is run, performance monitor shows high rates - CPU usage (Kernel Times) is very high.

i'm on a cable modem and i also have a domain name and DNS server. is there some way i can have my hostname show up as the host i specify say i own: domain. net the original box is what that is pointing to is there a way to have work.
