Modem problem in XP.

Help me with this modem problem. I'm running out of ideas. I Installed XP on A7V333 with an external Conexant modem. Problem: It can not connect to the ISP's server. It seems like it can not get an answer from the server.

Bootvis for win2k ?

i know of a program called bootvis which makes winxp boot faster. i was wondering if there is anything similar available for win2k, it doesnt have to be necessarily bootvis, just an equivalent. thanks a lot guys Hardtofin.

win2k ICS problem

hey. I have a computer using win2k advanced server running ICS. It works fine except if a client tries to login to hotmail, they are unable to. It just times out. Any ideas what is wrong? thanks in advance.

I ran quickstich360 (Enroute) previously on win95 and win98. My sytem crashed so l upgraded to win2000. I'm trying to find someone who uses this software and was able to install it on their 2K system.

Change 'environment string' in Mozilla 1.1?

Is there any way to change the information Mozilla reports to web pages about itself and the system its on? I've manged it with IE6 and regedit. Eg at the mo its; Mozilla/5. 0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.

Anyone having problems accessing "www.google.com"

I am having problems accessing www. google. com using IE 6 SP1 under WinXP PRo. I get some weird dutch website named De Standart Online. Last week, for instance, I was getting a different site. Is this related to the recent hacker attacks, or is this some marketing strategy related to MSN 8? Will Mozilla work?.

I am consistently having a problem with SVCHOST. EXT using up extraordinary resources when I am playing a game (all types, ranging from 1st Person Shooters to Strategy games). I can end the process & continue playing normally for a while until it builds back up.

AC97 Tone Controls..

what is that fix to enable bass and treble options in Windows when it normally isn't available? It's called AC97 Tone Controls and there is a registry fix for it, but I can't remember where or how.

Cannot log in with new users on my computer

Hi there, I'm trying to create a user account on my system for games. However, when I try to log in, I don't get past that blue screen background default. It's like it doesn't want to load the Explorer shell at all.

Is 2.9v Too high for DDR?

I had to set it as 2. 9 for some reason it goes from 2. 7 to 2. 9 with no 2. 8 But its rock solid stable at that voltage. Anyone know about this stuff?.

Outlook Express backing up quesiton....

Some time ago, I downloaded a utility that allowed me to back up some messages. I burned the files to CD then got my new computer. . . . I didn't really HAVE to have those messages w/ my new computer so I just re-set up my email etc.
