I have the Help service disabled in Win XP Pro, SP1. My question is this: If I start help on a app, any app, XP automatically changes the bloody service from disabled to automatic and alays starts it.

Ok people I got an e-mail from my friend saying that jdbgmgr. exe is a virus and cannot be detected by Norton or McAfee. It sits in your computer for 14 days before damaging your system and has a teddy bear on it as an icon.

Symbios Raid Controller SYM53810 -Need windows 2000 drivers

I found only one driver for this raid controller for Windows 2000 but it does not have a txtinfo. inf along with its oemsetup. inf file that is required during setup when you press F6 and specify additional storage devices.

I can't get the sidewinder profile software(original software not sidewinder 2) to install on my 2k machine. it says it cant install on an NT box. i know that there is no way around this but is there other software that can take it's place? i play mechwarrior 3 and 4 and certain things i want done thru the joystick ...

OK, I can see limiting backward compatibility, however it's a bit odd that this would *only* work on Win2K SP3 and WinXP as those are the ones using the spiffy new EULA permitting more information about a system to be captured by MS.

Active Directory: Is it compelling on a small network?

I am setting up a new small network (10 users). In the past I have installed active directory by default, but I am wondering if there is really any advantage in a small network like this. Wouldn't the server run faster withouth AD installed? Are there compelling reasons to install AD on a single server small network?.

Nvidia tweaking program of choice?

I've noticed that a lot of the Geforce tweaking programs that are out there have been discontinued lately. Of the ones that are still current (i. e. , work with the latest Detonators), which would you recommend? Any help is appreciated, thanks.

windows 2000 detects the wrong sidewinder

Hi there, I have a problem installing my microsoft sidewinder gamepad. i chose the automatic detection and the sidewinder 3d pro appears and it's not even connected! 8) 8) tried the latest gameport drivers (sb 16 pci) but it wouldn't work.

Hi all. In these days I am experimenting my overclock so during some boots my system lookups cause the vcore is inconsistence or the FSB and frequency are too high. One of all these times my system crashed and when it rebooted the scandisk program have solved some missing or truncated paths and other small problems.

I run under Windows 2000 and I wanted to defrag my C drive because there's not a ton of space so I thought that it would free some space. I have enough to make it defrag without the error going You do not have enough free space to defrage.
